Fox News Sunday launches “American Leaders” series…

Fox News Sunday will begin a new series “American Leaders” beginning this Sunday November 4th with an interview with President George H.W. Bush…

FOX News Sunday with Chris Wallace marks the launch of a new series, “American Leaders,” with an exclusive interview with George H. W. Bush from his library in College Station, Texas this Sunday, November 4th.

The new series aims to expand the typical Sunday morning talk show conversation beyond the beltway – by engaging prominent business, cultural and social figures in candid discussion about a wide range of issues important to Americans.

In addition to former President Bush, future guests include General Electric Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Immelt; Federal Express CEO Fred Smith; eBay President Meg Whitman and one of America’s leading evangelists, Pastor Joel Osteen.

Update: Broadcasting & Cable’s John Eggerton has more

Former President George Bush said he isn’t ready to say Democratic front-runner Sen. Hillary Clinton (N.Y.) is a lock for the nomination just yet, despite a double-digit lead in all the polls.

That’s according to the first President Bush’s interview with Chris Wallace for a new Fox News Sunday segment on “American Leaders” that launches Nov. 4.

“Well, look, if she’s the nominee, I obviously will be for her opponent,” Bush told Wallace. “I thought a few weeks ago that she was almost a ‘gimme,’ as we say in golf, for the nomination. I’m not sure I feel that way now,” he said, adding that the Democratic party is more willing to “take her on and to argue about stuff.”

  1. “General Electric Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Immelt”

WHAT??? Having the CEO of the company that owns CNBC, competitor to FBN, is a terrible idea. Why wouldn’t Jeffy go on Tim Russert. After all, that show is just NBC people advertising their show, book, etc.

  2. Great idea. I feel viewers like the idea of having more guests who are not politicians.

I see nothing has been mentioned about Bill Clinton. Maybe he is still smarting from his appearance a year ago.

  3. One Question for George Bush the FIRST- How much money have you personally made from the defense contracts that have been handed to the Carlyle Group since your son declared a proactive war against a nation that did not attack us, a nation that we already owned the top 1/3 of and the bottom 1/3 of with a no fly zone and the middle third we could fly over at will…a nation in which we had supported with arms, cahs and weapons of mass destruction in the 80s and a personal meeting with Donald Rumsfeld? And a followup question Mr President…how do you think the Iraqis will react once they know that their only industry…oil…has been privitized and the revenue removed from Iraqis and given to international oil interests? And one more…how do you like the breakup of your nation of Iraq and the resulting refugee crisis second only to Darfur despite the pleading of members of YOUR cabinet to the cabinet of yours son’s administration to NOT start this war because of the resulting non recoverable concussion to the already volitile region? And what about the support of the Religious Freedom Figthers in Afghanistan in the 80s?? Anyone…anyone…Beuller…Beuller?

Ok…in that case tell us what Barney and Miss Beasely were for Haloween.

  4. I had a dream to start my organization, nevertheless I didn’t have enough of cash to do this. Thank heaven my close dude suggested to use the mortgage loans. Thence I used the consolidation loans and realized my old dream.
