Missy: "The Bible is full of laws that we are to obey, and sorry to say, most libs like to break them all."

Uh, Missy, there's plenty of conservatives who disobey biblical laws too. Acting unChristian-like is not something limited to liberals. I know many good people that would be considered liberals who live their lives in a very Christ-like manner. Please don't use your own political bias to make such sweeping generalizations.

Glad we have that completely relevant "Jesus cooking Rice-A-Roni on the roof of Phil Donahue's house while arguing with liberals over P2+ ratings" thing settled. Because I would have lost sleep otherwise.

Looks like MSNBC really is gonna go all the way with this. I guess Rosie's "Celeb Detox" didn't take...

Missy, I used to watch The View simply because Meredith Vieria and Elisabeth Hasselbeck are hot.

Thanks, ImNotBlue. He has a bad back and leg, so sitting in the chair was easier than on the roof itself. I live in Florida and have no basement! HA!

Terance... well, my Rice-A-Roni tasted fine... I saved it.

That sucks about your dad, however. Why was he sitting on the roof in a chair? Well, anyway... hope everything goes will with that and he recovers well. Although, if I were you... I wouldn't hang around the hospital too long... first my food, then your dad, you've got the bad mojo today... at this point, I'd lock myself in the basement until tomorrow.

Here's hoping all goes well.

dexxjones,

Where do you people come up with this "Jesus was a liberal" train of thinking? The Bible is full of laws that we are to obey, and sorry to say, most libs like to break them all. Then when called on them, we're accused of "intolerance".

Yes, we are to forgive, but people are to REPENT of their sin. Jesus did forgive the woman of adultery, but then he told her to "GO AND SIN NO MORE"! (John 8:1-11). Liberals ALWAYS leave that part out when speaking of forgiveness.

Jesus also mentioned that the way to heaven is the "narrow path", meaning that we are to adhere strictly to His teachings. There's a lot more to say on the subject, but since this is not a board for theology, I will refrain for now. But please know that God does in fact command us to to turn away from our sin!

Phil Donahue was a "big name" hired by MSNBC, and his ratings were abysmal, from what I remember. So I doubt whether Rosie's talk show would do a lot better.

As someone mentioned earlier in the thread, she succeeded when she was "nice", years ago, on her talk show. But I think her ratings began to tank when she started her "mean" act.

I honestly don't know how ANYONE can watch The View. Whether Rosie is on or not, it just seems like these women are a bunch of cacklers who parrot each others ideas, and laugh and agree with anything (as long as it's not conservative). If that's the type of audience MSNBC wants to attract, then let them have it!

ImNotBlue, ok! Anyway I was just helping my dad put on a new roof and he fell off! And no I'm not kidding. He had this grand idea of sitting in a flimsy chair and fell right off the side onto the concrete...(while shoveling shingles) and I couldn't do a damn thing about it! So, he's off to the hospital with most likely a broken hip and my mind isn't in debating right now. Sorry.

I like women too... but not enough to listen to them talk. It's a joke, it's a joke... and to answer the inevitable question, yes I'm single.

Just to make sure we're talking about the same thing, it was the article about falsely attacking the US to provoke war with Cuba... right? Okay... an interesting read... an interesting book. I'll put it on my Amazon list.

But here's the bottom line about that... it didn't happen. They could have been spit-balling, planning, or whatever... apparently enough to fill a book... but the bottom line is, it didn't happen.

However, Rosie's theories about whatever really don't bother me. She's entitled to her opinion... no matter how loopy it is. I have a problem because she isn't challenged on it. When you come out supporting a conspiracy theory... one that goes against so much evidence... you have to be willing to take questions, and debate it. Otherwise you are simply a propagandist, and your 'opinions' should be viewed with little credibility. If you believe what you say, defend it. Don't just talk and walk away... I'm not going to believe you.

PS
Darn you Terance! I was reading your article and I should have been paying attention to what I was cooking! If my Rice-A-Roni tastes funny, I’m blaming you!

> The network could add another strong conservative as a permanent contributor the Rosie’s show and the other primetime shows

Hmm. What strong conservative would Rosie permit to appear regularly on her show? There might be some. But the bigger question, is what strong conservative would Olby permit on HIS show? Seeing as he hasn't interviewed a Republican politician or strategist for OVER A YEAR, I highly doubt he will permit any genuine conservative to appear on his show once, let alone on a recurring basis.

ImNotBlue, I like women and see nothing wrong with watching The View, eh. My point being, relying on "clips" instead of watching the entire show might leave one with the wrong impression. Anyway, if you have the time, please look at all four pages of this and get back to me. Btw, this is the type of thing Rosie talks about. And I'm sure you know the .pdf is available on GWU's website too.

No Terance, I did not watch "The View" with Rosie regularly.

I'm a guy.

I did, however, see the clips of Rosie on more than just FNC. So where I wrong?

ImNotBlue, just tell me weather you watched The View with Rosie regularly or not. I mean, admitting to relying on FNC's cherry picked clips which air every 15 minutes isn't so bad, eh.

Terance, than why was it talked about throughout the media that the on-air argument with Elizabeth helped spur on Rosie’s departure. Why was it reported that Rosie decided to leave earlier than originally planned? Why were there reports that she was angry that Barbara didn’t help defend her? Why were the stories about how angry she was after that show, and her assistant saying nasty things?

Elizabeth certainly isn’t the one I’d throw into a debate… but from everything I read (from multiple sources) Rosie was not happy after that program. I don’t think Rosie is strong enough to really debate an expert… just someone she can bully around a bit… she’s too temperamental. And having another show on that station with someone who refuses to debate, refuses to acknowledge opposing points of view… it doesn’t bode well for them.

But honestly, I don’t think it will come to that. I don’t think that Rosie has the guaranteed ratings that everyone seems to think she’ll get… especially if they put her at night. In the morning/afternoon she was popular with the housewives… but at night, she’d have to compete with other primetime programming, as well as a male audience that is in general not very receptive to her. Even with MSNBC’s low numbers, I can’t imagine her actually being able to get significant ratings. And frankly, I don’t think she has the stability to have bad ratings, and keep on trying.

I thought FNC was going to hire her, the way they have clips of her anytime she steps into public. I think Rosie should get a show, but it should be on a network not MSNBC. The only reason I think she should be on msnbc is to get rid of the doc-block daily, her ratings would be too high to lead into LockUP San Antonio or whatever.

"I think the incident with Elizabeth Hasselback on “The View” proved that Rosie can’t deal with someone who doesn’t expressly agree with her."

ImNotBlue, did you actually watch The View or just FNC's clips? FYI, Rosie "dealt" with Elisabeth just fine.. The only problem was, Elisabeth would become "unhinged" and unreasonable.. which is the main reason I stopped watching. See, EH basically spouts extremist talking points.. but when "challenged" she overheats. I don't know, something about "almost crying" while expressing views turns me off big time. Btw, I'm not making excuses for Rosie' views either.

and another thing: mentioning jesus as an example of tolerence and caring is not using his name in vain. using jesus to beat up on people of a different skin color or political ideology, (a jesus chrispy hobby) IS using his name in vain for a way of thinking that he never, in all of the biblical writings about him, supported. nice try aint buying.

#s 40 & 38 keith has beaten him a few times in the demo, yes i have seen the numbers. that he even comes close is reason to celebrate. as for the "jesus was a liberal" claim, he cared for the "least of us" and was about tolerence, not paroting the rantings of a fat drug addict and demonizing people for caring about humanity.

your tactics work in a right wing echo chamber. in an open forum where people can speak freely and without being drowned out by a tiny minority of terror junkies, chicken hawks and fake christians? not so much. jesus was a liberal by any stretch of the imagination. read up on it, why dontcha? as for rosie, i love that she drives the jesus chrispies nuts. (jesus crispies are not real christians. they are bumper sticker christians. there is a difference.)

This would guarantee ratings for MSNBC especially if there was a studio audience part. The network could add another strong conservative as a permanent contributor the Rosie's show and the other primetime shows to balance this out if it were to happen. I am saying like recognizable person like Bay Buchanan or Dennis Prager or Mike Medved.

#26: you might want to take a closer look at Olbermann's ratings. He's been "growing" his audience now for the entire four years he's been on MSNBC and he's still getting his butt kicked on a regular basis by Fox and can't come close to the numbers he gets. Second place (and sometimes third) aren't wins my dear. And they never will be. Sure you believe it because it's all he ever claims and all MSNBC ever proclaims but in the end, a loss is still a loss. And Olbermann is not a winner. Never has been, never will be.

By the way, it's taken Rick Sanchez about 2 months to rachet up ratings that are knocking on Olbermann's door. It took Olbermann FOUR YEARS to get to that level. the only difference is that KO gets the love letters from the mainstream media that pushes forward the mistaken notion he's some ratings "giant".

At least people know who Rosie is, even if they can't stand the sight of her.

Even if there's truth to this story, Rosie wouldn't last long anywhere because she's entirely too volatile and combative. Yes, there may be other people in the business with similar traits, but they manage to keep their jobs. Rosie never seems to be able to. I'm not a fan of hers.

#29, you're so full of crap, it's hard to know where to start scooping. You invoke the name of Jesus in your illiterate rant, but only use a small "j". You wonder if Jesus would "like" the rush's of the world? You idiot, Jesus loved everyone. Right now, however, I wouldn't be surprised if he's a little pissed at you for using his name in vain.

As far as olbermann beating O'Reilly in the demo -- LMAO , only in your wet dreams, little man.

INB, you make a few good points, but you have to remember (in regards to the ratings), that Rosie doesn't need to pull in 3 million people to make this show a success (ratings The View pulled in on a normal day last year). Even a steady 800k-1m would probably make MSNBC happy -- especially since a big chunk of that will be in the coveted demo (don't think many 55+ folks are interested in Rosie's rants).

LOL Rosie doesn't fight back. She picks on the weak and when someone does fight back like Trump she crawls back into her hole. Also a repeat of BOR airing for the 4th time doubled Olby in total viewers and beat him in the demo.

I think the incident with Elizabeth Hasselback on "The View" proved that Rosie can't deal with someone who doesn't expressly agree with her. I agree the a studio show would be more her style, but I can't imagine her actually ahving anyone on who would debate her.

That would give MSNBC two programs, back to back, that were "my opinion only" shows. Personally, I think that starts to cut into the networks credibility. Plus, is there really evidence out there that says Rosie would be a draw to people? How well is her book selling? "The View" lost people after she left, but gained people since Whoopie joined. I'm not yet convinced that she could bring in the viewers like it’s assumed she could.
