Pondering Rosie/MSNBC…
Portfolio’s Jeff Bercovici has lots of questions about an MSNBC/Rosie relationship…
Will MSNBC allow O’Donnell to use her show as a venue for baseless, inflammatory and noxious theories that don’t stand up to logic, much less evidence? Or will it try to muzzle her? And will other hosts on the network be allowed to critique the famously thin-skinned comedian on their own programs?
If this deal happens, I predict O’Donnell’s tenure on MSNBC will be even shorter than her stint on The View.

i never watch msnbc anymore so i don’t care if rosie’s there or not. i can’t imagine her going somewhere where so few people watch but then she would have an open mic so…..

They kill off Imus and try to bring back Rosie? Jesus…why don’t they just rerun their glorious Phil Donahue disaster, backed by Maury & Connie?
The backlash to the constant liberal left drumbeat will sink MSNBC in due time…yeah, they picked up some ratings points now, but in the not-too-distant future, this will become even more boring than it is now.

Interesting bit about how Scarborough did not like Rosie’s hiring on The View…would be interesting to think what he thinks about this potential new hire.

Does MSNBC still remember the glorious tenure of Michael Savage?

I really can’t believe we’re all missing the obvious here. MSNBC is merely trying to corner the O’Donnell market by scoring the trifecta: Kelly, Norah, and the next logical step, Rosie. It’s never been done before…

If you don’t think O’Donnell (Rosie) is nuts, go check out her website. But hey, on a bright note, she’ll make Olbermann look positively sane in comparison!

I said this in another post..but what happens the first time she brings up 9/11 being an “inside job”?..they don’t even let KO go there will they let Rosie?..and if they do will Joe Scarborough have the guts to stand up against his own network (or Tucker if he’s still there)?

I thought it was completely shameless on F&F this morning. They put up a graphic with people such as Brokaw, Williams, Russert, and had Rosie along side them.. Mind you this is the same network which Ailes/Murdoch come out and say our opinion hosts are different than news. Well, WTF would you lump them together for? They tried to get Debra Norville into the fray this morning even though she wasn’t on there to talk about that. They really need to get rid of Doocy or whomever writes his scripts. Totally classless.

Rosie after Olbermann - It’s not a good fit. Having seen Rosie’s “political” work in the past I’m not really impressed with her insights. If they had her on before Matthews and Olbermann and put Tucker after Olbermann it might work okay.

I guess Rosie would be the last nail in MSNBC’s self made
coffin.

G-Man… that was pretty funny. Good job.

“Will Fox/CNN/MSNBC allow to use his/her show as a venue for baseless, inflammatory and noxious theories that don’t stand up to logic, much less evidence?”
I think this “fear” has already been addressed by those obnoxions: Dobbs, O’Reilly, Hannity ETC!!!
Sure all the readers here are news junkies… but are we all necessarily “truth” junkies? I try to filter through all the info/disinfo. And come reasonably close to truth.
But to act like hiring Rosie is an affront to journalism? puh-leeze. Let’s all get real and recognize that Rosie gets ratings… and MSNBC needs ratings to make MONEY!
She could sit there on camera and rub peanut butter on her thighs and get better more consistant ratings than poor old Dan Abrams.

Again mlong, most liberals dont go around spouting 9/11 conspiracy theories. So what makes you so sure that KO has those views. I am willing to bet like Bill Maher, he is liberal, but not stupid. So i will say to you again, get your head out of your ass.

“Most liberals don’t go around spouting 9/11 conspiracy theories?” I had to stop going to my favorite liberal website because it was hijacked by a bunch of conspiracy theorists. Another consigned them to their own discussion group, away from the main discussion. It was the 9/11 nuts who interrupted Bill Maher’s show a few weeks ago because they were trying to lobby him to cover the story and he refused, thus they tried to hijack his show and he threw them out of the studio. Considering their number one theory of these conspiracy theory nuts is that it was all a plot of George W Bush to blow up the WTC so he could start the Iraq war, does it sound to you if the vast majority of them are Republicans?

Alison, reread what I said. True, most to probably all 9/11 conspiracy theorists are liberals, but what I said was that most Liberals are NOT 9/11 conspiracy theorists.
