Rosie says no show…
Um, whatever. And to think this is what NBC wanted to put on MSNBC’s air. Don’t feel badly guys. You’re better off in the long run…
Update: The LA Times’ Matea Gold has more…
The main sticking point, according to a person familiar with the discussions, was compensation. O’Donnell apparently requested a salary more suitable for a broadcast network than a cable news operation.
Wellp, I called it…

hahahaha. hahahahahahahaha. Wait - hahahahahahahaha. Seriously though, regardless of Spud’s political views and mine, I honestly believe he (Spud) is absolutely right. At least Olby can make things sound witty (even if they are not). Rosie writes the most juvenile garbage as attempts to form poetry that MSNBC is truly better off. Pains me to say so.

Too bad Rosie’s self admitted big mouth talked her right out of a short, silly gig that would have gagged the audience….could you imagine her pap after an hour of K.O.’s bile blather? Ugh….
Take a tip from Air America, MSNBC…when all you got is Bush-bashing…stick to your “Doc Block”….

At least it created much needed publicity for MSNBC, though the ratings continue to tank. My own view is Rosie needs to retire, both for her own good and that of the public. We don’t need another polluter of the airwaves.

Edward, politics has nothing to do with it, although, yeah, Rosie is to the Left of me (and to the left of more than 80% of this country I would add). I’m no far right winger by any stretch of the imagination but some of Rosie’s views, particularly the 9/11 crap, are just lunacy.
This is about putting on a known ticking time bomb that’s guaranteed to blow up in MSNBC’s face at some point. It literally would be Michael Savage all over again, only MSNBC would be more invested in O’Donnell and less likely to cut the cord at the first sign of trouble. Sort of like the way ABC was when it became patently obvious to everyone else that things were going to come to a head on The View sooner rather than later…

In a sense, this is really the worst possible outcome for MSNBC. They get all the downside (courting Rosie, admitting to a move leftward) and none of the potential upside (ratings, buzz).

Maybe they’ll end up giving KO two hours a night to rant and rave….I would not put it pass them..MSNBC thinks KO is their way out of third so why not?
Comment by mlong — November 8, 2007 @ 2:15 pm
KO is too lazy to work the one hour he’s got (celeb fill, recycled NBC news pieces), let alone give him an extra one.
