ICN in NYC: Behind the scenes at FNC/FBN…

This evening I was given a tour of the technology and infrastructure behind FNC and FBN by Greg Ahlquist; senior network director/project manager of digital newsroom integration for the FOX News and Business Networks. I learned far more than I could ever imagine, certainly more than I could possibly retain, on what goes on inside FNC and FBN. I have dozens of photos to pour over and figure out what to post which will happen when I get back.

One thing about the FBN studio I don’t get: The bookshelves. They look out of place in such a flashy studio.

Spud, for a minute I thought you were on the set of Red Eye!
Again, you’re doing a great job with all of this. Thanks for letting us in on what you’re seeing, because most of us will never enter a TV studio at any point in our lives!

Spud, maybe you could arrange a photo gallery of most of your studio photos? Say on flickr? (It’s free!)

#1, it’s probably along the lines of adding a home-ier feel to the channel, in addition to the overall idea of showing knowledge or something. Either way, their set is rather nice in my opinion of the pics that have floated around. Still, like my other response, can’t wait to see everything Spud.
