November Numbers: Write ups…
Multichannel News’ Steve Donohue writes about the November numbers…
Fox News Channel dominated the all-news network ratings battle in November, while rival CNN saw the biggest ratings decrease in the all-news category.
FNC averaged a 0.7 total-day rating in November, according to Nielsen Media Research numbers, flat with the same period in 2006. CNN averaged a 0.4 rating, down 20%.
Update: The Hollywood Reporter’s Paul J. Gough…
MSNBC was the only network to show increases in primetime among adults 25-54, up 7%, while both CNN and Fox were down 15%.
Update 2: Broadcasting & Cable’s Marisa Guthrie…
CNN Headline News’ Robin & Company, although still in fourth place in the morning, is gaining on MSNBC, growing 27% year-to-year and coming within several-thousand viewers (241,000 versus 249,000) of Morning Joe, based on live Nielsen Media Research numbers.
CNBC’s Squawk Box also posted significant gains, growing 42% to an average of 225,000 viewers.
Interesting. The trades have been able to pull out details on the November numbers that all the blogs, including this one, haven’t got…
Update 2: MediaWeek’s Anthony Crupi
According to NBC’s numbers, MSNBC averaged 198,000 in sales prime to CNN’s 196,000, putting it in second behind FNC.
Although Griffin’s sales prime numbers position MSNBC as the sole gainer in prime as far as demo delivery is concerned, Nielsen’s blended data shows that Headline News actually grew 9 percent in the period, to a fourth-place 148,000. And while FNC was down 15 percent, it still easily outstripped its competition, averaging 328,000 adults 25-54.

shane, you should try using the word leftist in a way that fits for once. Maybe you should trying adding an “s” to the end, and then you would make some sense. Not much, but some sense.
