  1. why say you’re sorry when it’s true!

This is how far gone his brain is. He actually thinks GWB is a monkey. Look at that TRUE with an exclamation point. LOL, Now I sort of understand why you’re always whining and crying like a little baby here.

  3. At least Burnett apologized, so she deserves a bit of credit for that. Farrrr too many people throw disrespectful words at Bush without any remorse, so it’s good she fessed up to her mistake.

She had to. She was getting major heat, people were calling in to complain from what I read, she was also on Drudge. Plus, don’t libs call GWB, chimp?

    Comment by Lurker — November 30, 2007 @ 10:41 pm

  5. The statement is true, people don’t want to admit that this president IS a joke and deserves all the disrespect that comes to him.

    Another braindead lib.

    Comment by Lurker — November 30, 2007 @ 10:44 pm

  7. Lurker, where did you hear about people calling in and complaining?

    Comment by Anonymous — November 30, 2007 @ 10:53 pm

  8. I $%!%# on you mister Bush - no apologies, I have more respect for a crack ho.

Bush demonstrated as much diplomacy as Lurker intelligence recently when he pulled out his reading glasses to welcome the Palestinian and Israeli leaders and butchered their names - couldn’t he spend 20 minutes practicing the pronunciation before he embarrassed his office once again.

  10. Haven’t you guys ever seen the comparisons of Bush and the look of a monkey? Um, even back in my supportive days of the administration, I thought it was a little funny. I don’t think she ment by a long shot the idea that he was a monkey, but that he looks like a monkey, though maybe I’m too kind.

    Comment by Chris (clind) — November 30, 2007 @ 11:58 pm

  11. I think what Lauren has expressed, is the problem with the modern far-left and far-right movements… it’s very focused on the “I” and not on the “us.”

“I” don’t like the President, “I” don’t agree with what he’s done, “I” don’t think he’s done a good job… therefore, he doesn’t deserve anything from me. In other words, unless you please “me,” “you” don’t get anything.

This idea, is selfish and childish… and in my opinion, responsible for much of the nastiness in today’s political scene. People who are so arrogant and self-focused to think that they’re the only one’s with the correct opinion… and that everyone else is not only wrong, but deserved of scorn, insult, and ridicule… are totally incapable of having an intelligent discussion or debate about anything. They feel that their opinions are so important, that they can determine whom they respect, and whom they disrespect, based solely on whether or not they agree with them.

There was a time when people had respect for one another, even if they disagreed. Respect for the office of the President, even if they were from a different political party. I guess those times are over. It’s a real shame. Some people need a reality check, but something tells me, they may already be too far gone.

  12. I probably should have toned down my opinion, which is more along the lines of that Bush has ignored the domestic needs of so many citizens in favor of throwing money to a war he started. He’s more concerned with helping a certain class of people and is the “b*tch” of ultra conservatives; so many of his decisions pander to them, he might as well buy some knee pads. I think he’s a decent guy, just a horrible politician. I actually LIKED him until he continuously screwed up this war (which I also supported at first). He has no one to blame but himself for the lack of support he now has.

Even that’s reading far too much into it. She was referring to the kids game. You know the one where two people toss a ball to each other while a third tries to intercept it. Bush was in the middle of the screen in between two people when she said it.

    Comment by Steve — December 1, 2007 @ 12:37 am

  14. Steve : Point taken, I guess I kinda missed the ball

    Comment by Chris (clind) — December 1, 2007 @ 12:58 am

  15. Her comment was really offensive…to monkeys.

    Comment by randy — December 1, 2007 @ 1:17 am

  16. Just another news bimbo in my opinion.
Most reporters are. I just ask the liberals to come up with new material and not use the same tired jokes over and over again.

    Comment by A.W. — December 1, 2007 @ 2:47 am

  17. I ♥ Erin! ‘Cept for the apology part, of course.

I watch the cheerfully moribund Morning Joe sometimes, mostly because it’s one of the least dreadful programs available at that hour. I think Erin would be a lot more fun if she had Imus to interact with instead of Joe. Shame, that.

    Comment by berberry — December 1, 2007 @ 3:38 am

  18. That’s one of the best descriptions of W ever. She was right the first time.

    Comment by Marty — December 1, 2007 @ 5:35 am

  19. “Monkey” is a complement compared to being called a “PERVERT” like BILL CLINTON.Source Don Imus.LOL!

    Comment by SHANE — December 1, 2007 @ 5:53 am

  20. You haven’t lived under a “bad” president until you had to endure the sheer idiocy of Jimmy Carter. Truly one of the worst presidents of the 20th century. Ranks right up there with Harding & Hoover.

Lest we forget what Carter bestowed on this great nation:

    * Double Digit Inflation
    * Doubel Digit Unemployment
    * Terrible Consumer Confidence
    * US/Iran Hostage Crisis

I could continue with at least a dozen more but for those of us who had to live thru with Carter as president we can say we truly survived.

    Comment by Rich — December 1, 2007 @ 6:25 am

  21. Hey Rich, I think ya forgot the Camp David Accords, EH??

Anyway, I think Erin is great. But, she should’ve known better than to call the president a monkey. I think he looks like Alfred E. Neuman myself.

    Comment by Terance — December 1, 2007 @ 7:19 am

  22. This woman needs to go back to manners elementary teaching if someone in her position if wants to be taken seriously.
    She was totaly unprofessional.

    Comment by sandy — December 1, 2007 @ 8:33 am

  23. Terrance:

Unlike many I will give him credit for that, however one good accomplishment does not outweigh the bad and there was plenty of bad when Carter was in office.

Just like I’ll give Bush credit for protecting us from another terrorist attack following 9/11. Can any of us have predicted that we would not have been hit again following that tragic day???

Does it really matter what the president looks like? Have we as a society lowered ourselves to such a level as we cannot accept someone for who they are. If not, we are in big trouble.

Challenge a politician for their policy positions is fine, don’t go after someone for their appearance. If we begin to look at a politician for their appearance then perhaps we should go look at Nancy Peolosi’s appearance, but I’m too big of a person to do that ;)…

    Comment by Rich — December 1, 2007 @ 8:56 am

  24. Rich, fair enough! Btw, when Bush sets up peace between Israel and Palestine, be sure and let me know.

    Comment by Terance — December 1, 2007 @ 9:10 am

  25. Did she apologize to W or to monkeys?

    Comment by Arthur — December 1, 2007 @ 9:19 am

  26. Regardless of her personal opinions, perhaps she should show more respect for the office of the POTUS if not the actual person occupying that office. Bad, very bad. The last time I heard, Erin was not in the opinion biz.

    Comment by Goldfish — December 1, 2007 @ 9:56 am

  27. After seeing that twit say that word, and then repeat it, it makes me wonder why the TV station did not do anything to cut her off. Making it worse is that Joe Scarborough was laughing, lamely saying “that’s my president.”

It’s not enough for this simpleton to apologize. That’s nothing but phony. She should be fired, and should never be made to appear on TV again. We don’t need that kind of stupidity. That remark just reflects how a bimbo tries to make news with her vacuous mind.

  28. just look at bush..he is a monkey!

    Comment by Me — December 1, 2007 @ 10:30 am

  29. I can’t stand her no matter what she says - she’s not attractive at all.

    Comment by Melanie — December 1, 2007 @ 10:35 am

  30. Back to Erin. I actually heard her say it live, but because I was half asleep, thought I may have heard wrong.

I couldn’t believe that a BUSINESS person would say something like that - I thought they were a little above this type of boorish behavior. But I guess she’s just a 20-something kid, who probably needs to go back to work BEHIND the scene for a while.

But could you imagine if O’Reilly, Rush or anyone at Fox would have said anything nearly as offensive? We would still be talking about it to this day, and it would have been all over every news venue. I guess it doesn’t matter when the target is a conservative.

And Lauren, thank you for your second post. It’s OK to disagree with the President, and you clarified your reasons for doing so. I can’t say the same about some of the others around here.

    Comment by Missy — December 1, 2007 @ 10:42 am

  31. American’s are getting sick and tired of being called unpatriotic when they try to objectively talk about the downsides of a presidency or a war. Occasional jokes, such as this, are the inevitable result of the attempt to suppress free speech.

    Comment by Liam — December 1, 2007 @ 10:58 am

  32. I think it’s okay to disagree and dislike the president..that is our right and what our soldiers are dying for. I just think we should have more respect for the office than that. I bet a lot of these people that are calling Bush monkey and nothing buy monkey’s themselves! As for Erin she is the monkey!

  33. ICN will always be a low-rent section 8 web-page.

    Comment by mike — December 1, 2007 @ 11:12 am

  34. Erin was a lovely, mannerly girl when I first saw her.
But with Chrissy and Joe fawning over her so much, she has turned into an ego-driven, poorly groomed idiot.
Put her on duty with the Britney Spears patrol.

    Comment by Cella — December 1, 2007 @ 11:29 am

  35. Burnett did not “apologize”. She said: “I apologize if I offended anyone”. That ain’t an apology. Also, why did it take five days for her to issue her cowardly statement and why didn’t she issue an actual apology? Also, why would she give her cowardly statement on a joke like so-called “Hardball” that has no audience?

    Comment by Tom — December 1, 2007 @ 11:52 am

  36. Well at least she apologized on the “low rated” Hardball…because even LESS people watch Morning Shmoe.

    Comment by Anonymous — December 1, 2007 @ 12:09 pm

  37. Cella is right. I used to like Erin but turned on her a few months back. She was getting way overhyped by the media, overexposed by CNBC and she was starting to believe the hype. Playing to the camera’s, doing gimmicks etc…. Joe Smoe is the worse, with that International Superstar, Worldwide Superstar crap.

    Comment by Lurker — December 1, 2007 @ 12:40 pm

  38. Those backing Burnett in this blogsite are the real monkeys. We ought to send them back to the jungle. A modern Darwin may want to find out how they are now behaving like troglodytes. Could be a defective DNA.

    Comment by RGL — December 1, 2007 @ 12:51 pm

  39. #31, criticizing what someone says is not “suppressing free speech”. Please provide one example when the Bush administration tried to do that. This President has taken more outrageous accusations and ridiculous name calling from you left wing zealots than any figure in history.

You’re entitled to your opinion, no matter how stupid and ridiculous it is. I’m entitled to tell you how stupid and ridiculous your statements are. That’s what free speech is all about.

    Comment by bigred — December 1, 2007 @ 1:04 pm

  40. Don’t you see, bigred… telling them you disagree, is the same (to them) as calling them “unpatriotic” or trying to stifle their free speech.

Free speech for them… not you!

It’s all about RESPECT people… respect for people who disagree with you, respect for this country and its leaders… no matter who they are.

Some get it… some don’t. *SIGH*

    Comment by ImNotBlue — December 1, 2007 @ 1:30 pm

  41. If Burnett’s IQ were any lower, she might trip over it. I would like this twerp to fall down with a big thud. That would be poetic justice.

    Comment by RGL — December 1, 2007 @ 1:42 pm

  42. GW Bush is the 4th greatest president EVER. Lincoln #1 Reagan # FDR 3. Bush has done the best job ever protecting america unlike clinton who tore half the us military down that weakend america thus causing 911. Erins slipup was what the liberal media really think about Bush Theonly reason lunatic liberals hate bush is because he WON 2 times beating Gore and Kerry-2 looney liberal wimps that if they were president america would have been attacked dozens of times like what happened when Clinton was president-attacked over and over and Clintons response was Monica.

  43. Msnbc smacks of double standards to me. They fire you if you call a group of basketball players “nappy headed hos”. But you get a pass if you call the President of the U.S. a monkey. They are a joke!!!
