CNN kills Iran special…

Variety’s Brian Lowry writes about how CNN has been forced to kill its special on Iran because of the new NIE on the country’s nuclear status…

The latest National Intelligence Estimate concluding that Iran discontinued its nuclear weapons program four years ago has claimed one casualty: CNN has postponed speculative documentary “We Were Warned — Iran Goes Nuclear.”

The two-hour spec, which was slated for Dec. 12 under the “CNN Presents” banner, was “set partially in the future,” featuring a what-if scenario as former government officials — playing fictional cabinet members — debate how to deal with the Iranian threat.

  1. You people can act as if CNN/MSNBC are the “left” and FNC is the “right” but when it all comes down to it, every single one “peddles” the same BS coming out of the White House.. regardless of the party in power. The “reason” behind the cooked intelligence and outright lies purported never seem to get much play. Ah, well, I guess people need to keep their jobs, eh.

  2. I now hope CNN will not act like those sanctimonious Democrats who only believe Bush lies every time he makes a statement. Dirty politics, as usual. Nothing makes the Dems
more ecstatic than knowing we are losing to our enemies. I will not be surprised if they would now embrace Ahmadinejad, who wants Israel to be lopped off the map. If I were an Israeli, I would be wary of the schadenfreude the Dems are now exhibiting. Yea, piss on them!

  4. I don’t get the whole futuristic thing. Making the special partly in the future. It just allows for them to make crap up. They did this future crap with some gas-special, I think.
BTW, its Special Investigations Unit, not CNN Presents. They changed the name a while ago.
