Zucker should have done this earlier. Now NBC is bleeding, and it may be too late to stem that hemorrhagic flow. That can be fatal, as everybody must know.

Well that's understandable...it's my job to at least try! =p

As for Olbermann, I totally agree with you. Anyone see Monday's numbers when he wasn't there -- they were 4th in the demo. Eek.

I can't and won't give you that level of granularity. It would be neither fair nor right to the talent to put them in that position. How would you like it if some blog went out and wrote that your job could be in jeopardy because of either it being eliminated or you being forced to take a pay cut? Get my point? I had been biting my tongue for quite a while on this but to not point it out at this point would not be right since it's part of the NBCU 2.0 cut plan. And since the plan is leaking out, the time was appropriate to note it.

And yet Olbermann just received $4mil a year?

Look, I know a bunch of you hate Olbermann but hate him or not, he's the lynchpin at MSNBC primetime. In NBC's eyes he's worth the money. And I can't argue with their thinking since primetime is where the money is.

"The cost reduction mentality will affect talent, and not just at MSNBC, one way or another. I’m not going to get into specifics because the situation is still fluid and nothing official has been decided."

I know you're not willing to go into specifics, but I'm still not sure what this means. By "affecting talent", do you mean they'll get a cut in pay? Layoffs? Considering their current situation where they have a new anchor every hour, could this mean that an anchor might do maybe 2-3 hours of dayside coverage instead of one?

I am shocked at the news about Bill Wolf.
I have been enjoying his comments and general upbeat mood on Tucker's show. If memory serves,Tucker always introduced Bill as vice president of prime time at MSNBC.
I am stunned and dispirited about this.
