Awards programs skew old. It beat Deal in 2+ at 9PM and beat everything except FOX News at 10PM and 11PM in both 2+ and Adults 25-54 - you can use the average against the whole time period block as well as look at the program hour by hour - which was not supplied. At 9PM - with Dan Abrams, well there are some people who want to watch the Holloway case arrest release instead of average people being heros. Their choice. But this program was not about ratings, no cable news channel would devote 2 and 1/2 hours of prime time knowing full well the ratings would not be strong, if they were after ratings. It was the first time for the broadcast and all awards programs need to build each year for viewership and celeb participation. Regardless of the underlying agenda, it was well produced, spotlighted some "good" that is being done around the world; and during a strike that has put the industry in the tank, I was surprised at the talent they were able to get. Also it is not easy in December with all of us in the industry being "wooed" every which way with talent appearances, film screenings with Q&A's with actors and receptions so we can see and vote on films before the Christmas break to get anyone to leave LA.
