Nobody, you are exactly right. As I've said before... Olbermann had better hope that a Dem doesn't get into office, because if one does... and there is some sort of scandal... things are going to get really tough for him.

He quit once before over a Democratic scandal... I don't see why he wouldn't do it again.

Furthermore, because MSNBC has put all their eggs in the Olbermann basket, if he were to leave, things could start to fail there pretty quick. KO would undoubtedly take his audience with him, burning bridges at MSNBC (like he did at ESPN), and leaving many of his fans angry at MSNBC for whatever reason he gives them. That could draw audience away from other programs on the network, and IMO essentially doom the network.

There isn't much of a primetime on MSNBC anymore. The only live program they have is Olbermann's show. Once Bush is out of office next November, his rants and tirades become... well pointless. Especially if one of the do-no-wrong Democrats he supports so much gets into office.

With that said, MSNBC should enjoy what they have now, because one year from now, Olbermann's ratings are going to take a hit, and once that happens, NBC is going to take a look at his 4 million dollar a year contract, and that's the end of that.

Primetime will not be touched. That much is certain. Whatever happens with Tucker it will have nothing to do with any cost reduction issues.

Spud, I haven't been following industry news lately, but will MSNBC primetime lineup be affected? I hope they don't mess with KO's show. Also, will Tucker be fired?
