Abrams to start series on Bush Justice Department…
Tonight on Live with Dan Abrams, Abrams kicks off a new series called “Bush League Justice” which will cover what’s been going on over at the Justice Department during the Bush Presidency. Abrams blogged about the new series last Friday…
“Bush League Justice” is a series (airing Monday-Thursday at 9 pm on MSNBC) that stems from my increasing frustration and outrage over how the Bush Administration has politicized the usually apolitical Justice Department. In the process, it has significantly abused its authority to try to enhance power at the expense of any sense of objective justice. Many of the administration’s most controversial maneuvers have been widely reported, from the torture memos to the NSA’s warrantless searches to the U.S. Attorney scandal to the appointment of only the most conservative of judges and justices.
But that is really just the tip of this Administration’s ongoing effort to uproot the Justice Department. As we will show the week of December 10, they have regularly circumvented Congress, and decimated some of the most fundamental and cherished principles that define justice in this country.

I feel sorry for this guy, Abrams…None watches his show…he is just a joker. He got demoted to the lowest level of junk anchor.

Maybe this will get some ratings for this loser…I would be P.O. if I was him after his demotion but I guess he loves crow. He is the most negative anchor on MSNBC.

“Bush League Justice”? That title would suggest the series will be “at the expense of any sense of objective” journalism.

Sounds like a very balanced, straight forward examination. Top notch journalism will be pushed to the max. Surely, both sides of this issue will get equal time in a fair and ethical manner.
I smell an Emmy coming on.

This is how hair plug guy tries to keep his job.

This is the type of programming that is edging MSNBC to the brink. It must be so frustrating to be down in the bottom all the time it would air anything against Bush. The good news is only the loony liberals listen to them.
The is the best way for a cable channel to continue on its suicidal plunge. Bye, Abrams.

Long overdue investigation. it’s one thing to use the Justice Department to focus on legal issues you campaigned and won on. It’s Putin-esque to use the Justice Department to attempt to perpetuate your party’s hold on power.
The right’s hypocrisy on this issue is laughable. If a hypothetical President Hillary Clinton was using the Justice Department the way the Bush administration was, there would be calls for armed rebellion.

Arthur, I’m sure you’re going to give us all the details of how the Justice Dept. was used to try to “perpetuate (the) party’s hold on power”.
I suppose asking them to investigate voter fraud committed by Democrats is totally wrong. Because the libs would never do anything unethical or illegal.
Comment by bigred — December 10, 2007 @ 4:11 pm
Bigred - asking the US Attorney to indict your opponent a couple weeks before an election? and then when the US Attorney refuses citing lack of evidence and then that US attorney winds up on the list to be fired for not being a team player? Is that pointed enough for you?
I suppose asking them to investigate voter fraud committed by Democrats is totally wrong.
One can allege anything - I can allege you are a serial killer but that doesn’t make you one. One of the most under-reported stories ever is the extent to which the GOP machine under Karl Rove convinced otherwise-sane people that voter fraud is rampant in our country. It is an urban legend and you buy it because it resonates with your preconceptions.
US Attorneys refused to chase phantoms as ordered by their political masters in order to do the REAL work of their offices and were fired for it.

Now we have the rantings of Olbermann expanded into another hour on MSNBC - the gang that can’t think straight.
It’s pathetic, the perfect storm of stupidity.

Hey bigred, what about the 2000 Flordia election fraud? If that was actually solved we would probably being have the same kind of crap air on FNC right now? Gore League Justice or some crap. The news takes too many positions these days instead of reporting the facts.

Lurker, thanks for slapping them in the face with the truth. I’m sure it hurts. And I’m sure they’ll spin it somehow.
Aaron, the only fraud in the 2000 election was Al Gore trying to steal it when he obviously lost.
Art, US attorneys serve at the pleasure of the President. Period. If they don’t do their jobs, he has every right to fire them.
Abrams program will be more Bush/Republican-hating dreck that we’ve become accustomed to from MSDNC. The Home Shopping Network is less predictable.

You are willfully ignoring what is contended - that the US Attorneys were fired for not unjustly targetting democrats for the benefit of republicans.
When one party attempts to use the justice system to harass their political opponents, we have descended into Third World territory. One justice for those in power and another for those in opposition? Doesn’t sound like America to me.
Comment by Arthur — December 10, 2007 @ 9:48 pm
The attorneys were fired for political reasons. Its all known that that is what happened. What can be done now? Nothing really since the few people actually involved have quit or been fired.
Comment by Aaron — December 10, 2007 @ 11:17 pm
The comments of most of the posters here leave little doubt in my mind that Abrams is absolutely doing the right thing! It’s in his genes, you know. His dad was a First Amendment attorney who defended the New York Times after the leak of the Pentagon Papers, which exposed the warmongering lies of the Johnson administration.
I’m sure Dan will wear these kinds of right-wing condemnations like a badge. As he damn well should!

Sure, he does…and everybody recognized that–his stupidity and idiot…so that is why nobody watched his show (except extreme liberal and left-wing communist democrats)…Ha…Ha..!

what language is this, exactly?

#18, Aaron… U.S. attorneys are HIRED for political reasons. It’s a political position. It doesn’t matter why they were fired. Just like it doesn’t matter that Bill Clinton fired more than 70 in one fell swoop when he became President. It’s all political. They serve the President. He can hire/fire them whenever he wants.
Comment by bigred — December 11, 2007 @ 12:32 pm
It doesn’t matter why they were fired.
You repeat the talking points well. And it’s certainly true that LEGALLY no laws were broken. Whether or not the American people are going to be cool with using the Justice Department as one’s own private Mafia remains to be seen.

If you can’t understand that language, I don’t know what to do…! Sorry, It’s just…MOCKING LANGUAGE…Ha…Ha…!

okay, now I feel bad. NewChallenger’s command of English is apparently so rudimentary that he doesn’t know when he’s being made fun of.
