Carol, Believe me, there are ways for these news organizations to find out what a person's values and beliefs are by simply asking about their likes and dislikes. A lot of job applications nowadays ask all sorts of personal questions about your social life, hobbies and other stuff. They may not come right out and ask "are you pro-life or do you think homosexuality is wrong", but there are other more subtle ways to find out about a person's general worldview and values system. If you want to play in the big leagues of tv news today, you have to play it the way the liberal executives want it played.

california dreamin, I agree that conservative women do not get the good jobs on news programs, but how do the people doing the hiring know what their views are on, say, abortion or religion? Is that something that is spoken about during an interview?

If Chris Wallace continues with these dumb interviews, his show will stay in last place in the nation, and in the nation's capital.

Lurker, There may be some fiscally conservative women at Fox, but if you hear them giving thoughts on hot social topics like gay marriage and abortion, they all tend to lean left. Being conservative with money may be one thing the liberal bigwigs in tv news are willing to tolerate from their anchors, but social conservatism is a big no no. If you see these gals in front of the camera on a national news broadcast, they are liberal in all of the critical and required areas. No doubt about it.

Ira, Yes, I know Liz Trotta is pretty conservative, but she isn't what I'd call a regular anchor or reporter at this stage in her career. She isn't sitting behind an anchor desk or reporting from the field. She offers opinion. Say Liz Trotta was 25 years old, walked into some news station in 2007 and applied for a job......if her views and opinions were known do you think she would be hired for one of the big positions as an anchor or reporter? In this day and age with the media culture as it is? I don't happen to think so.

When you see female anchors, especially at the national level these days, you can almost bet your bottom dollar that they are all pro-choice, anti-gun, anti-war believers. I have yet to see one that doesn't lean that way.

You won’t find a female in the field of broadcast journalism that is not liberal.

Calif. Dreamin': I'll give you one obvious name: Liz Trotta who does a media segment with Eric Shawn on FNC just before 12 Noon ET every Sunday.

Being a Dem does not mean you are Liberal necessarily. Either way, it shouldn't matter, as long as she sticks to entertainment crap. If she subs for Brit Hume, then we got a problem.

Carol, It doesn't surprise me to find out that Courtney Friel is a Democrat. You won't find a female in the field of broadcast journalism that is not liberal. In order to get anywhere in the news business, especially for women, you need to have that hard charging, liberal feminist view of things. The big newsies don't want any pro-lifers or Christian nuts. They make sure the conservatives don't get anywhere near the top. Can't take the chance that their views might influence the way they cover a story or report the news. That honor is reserved for the liberal ladies....their influence is welcomed anytime.

Ira, interesting... I don't remember that.

But I wouldn't put much past Elmo. If he/she could say something offensive about a non-liberal... he/she would. So that might not be any real indication of his/her gender.

I sure do wish Elmo him/herself would stop on by and end the debate. But somehow, I doubt that will happen.

Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if Elmo was a few different people... but then again, there are a few people around here whom I think are multiples.

Blue: Way back when, when Rudy Giuliani's name was first mentioned here, Elmo said something about a few second cousins in his family that he might like to (insert your own word here)!

Although I suppose it is possible, I thought it was unlikely that such a remark could have come from a woman.

I think most of us have assumed that Elmo is a "she." But I think only because her name has "monica" in it.

Not that it really matters... doesn't change the lunacy of her/his statements.

Similarly (or exactly the same)... we don't know if YOU'RE a guy or a girl. But it really doesn’t matter… does it?

RJ... are you seriously linking to clips from OutFoxed? Puh-lease.

Oh, and if people like John Kerry were so upset with how they were treated by FOX, how come they keep appearing in interviews and specials on the network?

You gotta stop giving credit to sources that are financially invested in the success or failure or whatever it is they're reporting. OutFoxed is going to distort, lie, and slander as much as they can... in an effort to make money. That is their bread and butter... and if they didn't do those things, they wouldn't have jobs. It is far too biased of a source, for anything that comes from them to even be taken remotely seriously.

At least Elmo isn't talking about big cat colonies anymore.

And I'd like to know what evidence Elmo has for what she's saying this time. Well... she didn't list any, but here's the response: If the bias is programmed in, how can you explain Rupert Murdoch's large donation to the Hillary campaign? Furthermore, if you believe that the bias is "programmed in" because people like Roger Ailes worked for Republicans previously... how do you defend the fact that Dan Abrams (of MSNBC) was the GM for a time, and is now back to hosting a very left-wing program on that network? It would seem to be pretty similar, so why one and not the other?

Elmo won't answer those questions... because she doesn't have answer for it. But that's what happens when you shoot from the hip, and react purely on emotion... and just hope the facts back you up later.

Elmonica does not know what he talks about, which is about par with him on any subject. But he is beyond redemption,
which is why he needs to be ignored. Too bad we have to deal with his insipidities. Fool!

What is Chris Wallace talking about? That once they get a nominee they'll PROBABLY come on. Once both sides get a nominee, they WILL and better come on. Or we can play this game with the Republican nominee not going on the other networks.

The big difference between between CNN/MSNBC and Fox News is that any bias by CNN/MSNBC is a reflection of the individuals that work for them, while the bias at Fox is a programmed one, intentionally directed by the highest levels of the organization. That is why at Fox News you can take some bimbo news reader who has no interest in politics and find her suddenly making Republican talking points that are totally out of character for her.

That programmed dishonesty makes Fox News unworthy for holding any Democratic debates and deserving of the scorn of all honest Americans.

You are right on the mark, Chris. Your tough questioning of the GOP candidates makes clear to everybody that you are not a shill for any party. What are the Dems afraid of?

Yes, I recall that interview with Hillary, on a week-end when she appeared on all the Sunday programs, but she just cackled her way through (an artifice, I'm sure), but she really did not answer the questions head-on.

This moronic move by the Dems tells me that they are indeed captives of the loony left. They have NO balls to do what every GOP candidate is facing. I'm sure they will rue this after their November defeat.

Spud, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't congress people say they were boycotting MSNBC after what Chris Matthews said?

It's not like FNC is the only network being boycotted. MSNBC is too. After, Chris Matthew's comment, I haven't seen a republican debate on MSNBC. MSNBC is too.
