MSNBC breaks from pack, covers Mitchell Report presser live…
While the PBS debate started being simulcast on CNN and FNC, MSNBC instead started the 2pm hour with the Mitchell Report presser. Keith Olbermann and Tamron Hall were covering the story in the minutes leading up to the start of the presser. No idea if MSNBC will take the entire presser or switch over to the debate or tape delay the debate.
Update: MSNBC will air the full debate starting at 3pm ET. HLN is also covering the Mitchell presser live…
Update 2: At the end of the presser, the post-coverage was handled by Chris Jansing and Keith Olbermann…
Update 3:FNC carried the debate live, while FBN and FOXnews.com carried/streamed the Mitchell presser. FNC provided updates on the Mitchell presser via its lower thirds throughout the debate…

That’s a semi-smart move I guess…they have have bombed in the ratings yesterday and decided to cover the other story instead.

Stupid MSNBC, the press conference is on CNBC. Why do we need it on MSNBC and CNBC :P

MSNBC the place for politics chi……didn’t you read the pew article. They cover politics way more than anyone else. One instance isn’t going to bring the whole thing crashing down.

i was surprised. But it was better than FNC and CNN putting the information coming out about steriods under the dem candidates. CNN was especially annoying with its Now IN the News music and wrap.

Its times like this when Fox could use a breaking news ticker, much like the one at Sky News. I dont know why this idea has not been picked up here yet. It allows viewers to be kept up to date on breaking news but also allows the straps to be used for other stories, making it less confusing to the viewer when the image and strap do not match up, like in this case!
