Jose Canseco on Fox and Friends…

This morning on Fox and Friends, Jose Canseco was interviewed by Gretchen Carlson and Brian Kilmeade regarding the Mitchell Report…

Gretchen Carlson: I know that you say the Mitchell Report is incomplete. Who’s names aren’t on the list?

Jose Canseco: Oh god, there is probably about another, you could probably triple that list, as a matter of fact.

Gretchen Carlson: Triple it?

Jose Canseco: Um, I’m just going to say that Alex Rodriguez is not who he appears to be. And we’ll just leave it at that.

Gretchen Carlson: Of course a major super star with the NY Yankees, playing 3rd base.

Jose Canseco: Absolutely, yes.

Gretchen Carlson: And you not going to say anything more about that.

Jose Canseco: Absolutely not, no.

Gretchen Carlson: Why would people be let off the list?

Jose Canseco: Lack of some evidence. Not enough time, not enough funding. Who knows?

  1. That was such a bizarre interview. Canseco didn’t seem “there” all the time and then the rest of the interview he was so cocky and narcisistic that I had to turn it off. The interview just didn’t flow well, very awkward.

  2. You have to compliment Canseco for opening this can of worms. He confessed and wrote a book about this liberal steroid abuse. I’m sure he was telling the truth about a number of players being left off the list, but he did not have to name new names with that 409-page report by Mitchell.

But Alex Rodriguez? I just read today he was signed by the Yankess for another 10 years at a humongous salary. Jose must know more about him than we do, particularly since both are Hispanic.

If I were a baseball fan, I would boycott major league baseball if no punishment is meted to those identified by Mitchell. Those players have swindled us with our eyes wide open over the years.

As for Bug Selig, he has got to go. That guy did nothing to stop this scandal over the past many years.

  3. Jose Canseco is giving good publicity to Fox Biz. He’s being quoted everywhere from newspapers, blogs etc…. about AROD not being on the list.

  5. Jose is a rat bastard. He outed MLB players so he can write a book and make money.

  6. Randy, sometimes we need whistleblowers to find out what otherwise is hidden from us. Yes, a rat, but a good one in the context of what led to this scandal. We need to root out all this corruption pervading major league sports.

Chase, I made that comment since I know a lot of these Hispanic players tend to congregate among themselves more often then they do with others. I know their culture quite well. Anyway, he made some insinuations about Rodriquez, though we don’t have to speculate further.

  7. RGL, he did a lot of the steroid giving too. He introduced people to that world, and then turned on them to make a few bucks.

  8. I knew that, Randy. We saw that quite often with the mobs. It’s those little rascals squeaking that led the FBI to indict the big fish, effectively paralyzing their operations. Can you imagine major leage baseball in the future with all those impostors drawing humongous salaries? Yes, all at our expense. We ought not to be manipulated again, if baseball can survive this scandal.

  9. ****If I were a baseball fan, I would boycott major league baseball if no punishment is meted to those identified by Mitchell. *****

Most of those “identified” were names given by a couple of personal trainers (some of whom have later confessed). Without tangible evidence, like online orders or some other sort of paper trail, MLB couldn’t feasibly punish someone based on the word of someone else. Davide Justice, for example, denies it vehemently.

It takes more than the word of someone to incite punishment.
