Worst shows of 2007?
The Sacramento Bee’s Rick Kushman compiled a list of the worst shows on TV in 2007. One cable news program made his list…
5. “Nancy Grace” (CNN). Grace is merciless to every creature in her path - the accused, the victims and anyone foolish enough to speak with her. She represents every bad part of our media culture, plus Grace and CNN have shown they’re willing to do anything to anyone for ratings. CNN should be ashamed. Grace, we know, has no shame.

I don’t agree…I am not a fan of CNN but I do watch Nancy Grace. I think she is a very caring, compassionate person there really cares for people and really wants to correct the flaws in the justice system and we know there are many.

The worst show on TV is Red Eye on Fox News. Hands down. As the ratings prove.

Nancy Disgrace is just that..a disgrace,
She drives a mentally unstable woman to suicide and during the Duke Lacrosse rape case she declared the 3 young men guilty and after the case fell apart and the truth came out that the Woman had lied and that the DA had used underhanded tactics,,she didn’t have the courage to admit she was wrong or to say she was sorry about claiming the players were rapist….instead she called in sick and had a stand-in host the show when the case was dropped.

#2, where are the ratings for RedEye? I have never seen them, and haven’t seen anyone who has seen them, despite many people asking for them in ICN.

Nancy is often over the top in terms of her style and mannerisms. But, is her show one of the 10 worst of the year? I don’t think so. Not when there’s “Morning Joe”, “Scott Baio is 45 and Single”, That “Monique” show on VH1 last summer, and any of those awful judge shows on in the afternoons (People’s Court, Maria Lopez, Texas Justice, etc.)

Haile, you must be talking about the 3am numbers? Because TVN posts the 10pm ones weekly. And from my vantage point, it looks like they got a whopping 56K in the all important demo.

Great list. I am so sorry that National Disgrace was put on HLN in the first place. He left out Glenn Beck. Headline news is anything but it’s
name. Around the world 11/7 .

the ratings for Red Eye come into Fox, where I work. The 3am show is a scratch, meaning not enough viewers to register a rating. the last Saturday 7pm/10pm slot rated a 0.05, meaning almost a scratch. By contrast, OReilly’s rating is a 0.6

I didn’t know Fox News was in the charity business by keeping Gutfeld employed when his show is a virtual scratch. The ratings don’t lie. People at work think maybe he has naked pics of some Fox executive because it makes no sense.

I recall hearing that Red Eye wins the demo, but that was at 2, not three. Has the move killed the ratings?

Sounds to me like tiajahn is a phony…who would make derogatory remarks about their employer or msybe he is just a disgruntled employee. I like Fox and hope if this tiajahn is the real deal he will get the boot.

I once spoke with a producer from FNC, and asked about things like “OutFoxed” and all the other hate stuff. He told me that so much of it was bogus… and that many of the people interviewed who said the were “employees” weren’t actually FNC employees, rather they were FOX employees. Remember, there is FNC and FOX evening news… and someone who doesn’t mind being a little obtuse will say they work for FOX News, when they really mean they work for a FOX affiliate, on the evening news.
Beware people who say FOX and not FNC… perhaps this explains “tiajahn”. Or perhaps, as Gloria said, they’re fake. Especially because the number’s he/she quoted for O’Reilly are directly contradicted by the numbers posted here on ICN.

Nancy is often over the top in terms of her style and mannerisms.
Scott: My main problems with the Nancy Grace Show are: a) taking viewer phone calls, and b) too many guests. Some tweaking and I think she could be better than Greta.
The 3am show is a scratch, meaning not enough viewers to register a rating.
tiajohn: I’m curious; are there any shows that air at 3am ET that do not scratch?
I have watched nearly every Red Eye episode and it appears that about two months ago, the show hit a wall and has not grown or improved since. But even if Red Eye doesn’t survive long term, I think there is definitely a TV future for Greg Gutfeld, Bill Shultz and Andy Levy.

Ira-When I said “over the top”, I was referring to the way she talks to guests as if she is in a hostile cross examination, the melodramatic way she closes her show (the “good night friend” in a soft, almost somber voice after nearly an hour of going off on people) the facial contortions, etc. I do admire her as a prosecutor as she never lost a death penalty case and her passion for crime victims and their loved ones who often were ignored in the criminal justice system until fairly recently. Also, I do like how she pays tribute to fallen American soldiers in Iraq.
As for Red Eye, I loved the show when I was working late nights and was still up around 1AM my time (CST). But, they moved it to 2AM and I can’t watch it that late. I still don’t get the reasoning for the switch. If Red Eye doesn’t work, I too hope FNC will find another place for Greg and company.

Red Eye got screwed with he move to a later time.

Maybe Red Eye lost a significant amount of the conservative viewers when they booted Rachel off the show. I know I was pissed but I still watched lol.
Comment by Lurker — January 2, 2008 @ 6:48 am
I agree with Lurker about Rachel Marsden being fired from RED EYE (or whatever happened to her). Now that seat is usually filled with some blond air-head. I really miss Rachel and her comments. She was a good counter-point to everyone else. And she could pronounce all the French names!
