Chris Wallace interview…

The Sun News’ Robert Morris previewing tonight’s debate on FNC by interviewing questioner Chris Wallace…

How are you going to choose questions?

We are going to divvy up subject areas - the economy, national security - then each of us will be responsible for a couple of subject areas.

We’re also looking for points of difference, where one person has said one thing about how to approach an area and somebody else may have a different idea.

The hope is to get a conversation going amongst the candidates about their different approaches to the same problem.

What kind of research goes into the questions?

You want to see what their positions are on the issues, what they’ve said, what they’ve said critically about each other, what outside experts have said about their policies. I’m going to look at some of the exit polls that indicate what voters’ interests and opinions are, look at past debates and what they’ve said in the past to and about each other.

  3. I think FNC did the right thing by changing their mind on including Ron Paul. In other words, it makes no sense to include people who finished lower than him in NH and not the man himself! I just wonder if the moderators will be wearing flip flops tonight.

  4. They didn’t change their mind. Ron Paul was always scheduled to be a part of this debate. The guidelines were different from the previous one, and even when people were writing about how he wasn’t in Sunday’s night forum, it was still being reported that he WOULD be in this one.

  5. Johnny $ - so are you telling me this headline which can be found by going to Drudge and typing “fox news” in the search box is inaccurate? “UPDATE: Ron Paul to Appear in Next FOX NEWS Debate…”

  6. It’s accurate, but the report doesn’t claim he was excluded and then let back in. He was part of it all along, as this AP report from Dec 31 clearly states:

You’ll note that Ron Paul’s spokesman specifically says he will be part of the SC debate:

Some livid Paul supporters are distributing e-mails calling for a boycott of Fox advertisers. A Fox representative did not immediately return calls for comment about the complaints. Paul has been invited to a GOP forum that Fox News is sponsoring in Myrtle Beach, S.C., on Jan. 10, Benton said.

  8. Fox has a history of speaking up and doing the proper thing when situations go wrong. Others could learn from them.
