Michigan 2008: It’s over…
Well I tune in at 9:05pm and all three networks have already predicted Mitt Romney has won Michigan. I guess I can go to bed now. Just kidding. Post your comments about tonight’s coverage here…
Update: FNC called the race for Romney at 9pm, CNN at 9:01, and MSNBC at 9:03.

I used to really enjoy Larry King…He is just too painful to watch these days….

More of the media irresponsibility. Don’t dare project someone the winner with 10%, this isn’t Venezuela and Cuba.

Looking around the channels tonight, I’m amazed FNC has actually done the unthinkable (but wonderful) and removed their logo from the screen and put a large FOX NEWS logo into the scroller space. While covered when they do little Alerts down there, it’s just amazing how much less distracting the screen is now, and how they’ve modified their L3rd with the expansion of information and the little top part for the regular L3rd information is wonderful.
If anything, FNC has finally hit a sweet spot in my book, though now it almost seems like they could shrink the logo on the bottom a touch since they are currently using about half the screen space on my TV.

It’s also nice to see them utilize Shep’s set in Studio E for the coverage.

MSNBC called it at exactly 8pm with Olbermann… Williams mentioned it again at the top of the debate

Chris: Agree with your post. Plus Fox corrected a bad mistake from New Hampshire, and tonight showed the votes and percentages of all the candidates, even “uncommitted.”
Aaron: You are obviously showing your (young) age. I remember being upset when projections without the raw votes began in the 1970s.

At least today they wait until the polls are closed before they make projections. Remember Reagan in 1980?

I agree with JMan… MSNBC called it right at 9PM and switched directly to the debate. On the 3 screens I saw.. MSNBC was first.. but the time difference between the 3 was marginal.
