FOX News’ Shepard Smith will headline FOX Super Sunday, a three-hour event on FOX Broadcasting beginning at 9:00 AM/ET on Superbowl Sunday, February 3rd, announced Marty Ryan, Executive Producer of Political Programming, FOX News. The special will kick off with a one-hour edition of FOX News Sunday with Chris Wallace, followed by a two-hour block of political and sports coverage with Smith live from Glendale, Ariz. just two days before the 22 state primary contests.
In making the announcement, Ryan said, “We are thrilled to be providing unprecedented political coverage on Superbowl Sunday during one of the most highly anticipated election seasons in recent history. Drawing from the best resources on national and local platforms, FOX will bring together America’s two greatest passions – politics and football.”
Following a special edition of FOX News Sunday, Smith will be joined at 10:00 AM/ET by co-hosts Bill Hemmer and Megyn Kelly who will be live from election studio headquarters in New York. Together, they will examine the leading candidates along with the crucial states and key issues that could lead to the selection of a nominee by both parties on Super Tuesday. Additionally, they will explore the social and cultural impact of the Superbowl and how it intertwines with politics.FOX Super Sunday will also include a behind-the-scenes look as the action gets underway for the Superbowl. Meanwhile, FOX Business Network’s Alexis Glick will offer a peek at the best commercials and the economics behind the biggest sporting event of the year while FOX News correspondents Carl Cameron and Major Garrett will provide live updates from the campaign trail alongside correspondent Bret Baier in Washington, D.C. FOX O&C correspondents will also contribute from the different campaigns around the country.
Also reporting from campaigns across the country will be Dick Brennan (WNYW FOX 5) with Rudy Giuliani, Harry Martin (WWOR My9) with Hillary Clinton, Jack Conaty (WFLD FOX 32) with Barack Obama, Scott Sayres (KDFW FOX 4) with Mike Huckabee, Joe Battenfeld (WFXT FOX25) with Mitt Romney, Steve Krafft (KSAZ FOX 10) with John McCain, Jason Carter (WHBQ FOX 13) with Fred Thompson and Bob Buckley (WGHP FOX8) with John Edwards.



If NBC can put the revolting K.O. on during pre-game shows, FNC can certainly put Shep in the sports mix. Great idea!

Here is my question. Will this coverage be in HD? We know FOX broadcast network can carry the HD signal, but will the FOX News crew use HD equipment?
