Ha! Paco is Montel! I’ve unmasked you Paco! Begin your lunatic ravings……..NOW!

I don’t suppose FNC will be asking Montel back anytime soon?

Zakk–I laughed out loud when I read your post. Funny!
I saw this over the weekend, and ended up turning the channel. It was awkward at best. “I am just as disgusted at myself”. Give me a break. If you come for a fight, you better be armed.
He completely hijacked the conversation. I have no problem with him going off topic, but not like that. I don’t disagree with his point though. No offense Heath Ledger, et. al., but his death means nothing to me. Sad, yes, but I’d rather honor those fighting for our country then spend hours contemplating, assuming, and gossiping about why HL died.

As someone who goes to a movie about once every ten years, I had never even heard of Keith Ledger. And I have been amazed at all the attention his death has garnered, just as I have with everything Britney, Paris, etc. As Montel mentioned, why?
Anyway, whoever booked him as a guest to talk about that topic really messed up! If they needed to talk about the guy, they should have had someone in his age group (apparently in his late 20s) or someone who actually knew him!
I’m not anti-war, but I do applaud Montel for trying to bring recognition to the troops who lost their lives for our country. Maybe the dustup he caused on F & F will be noticed by other programmers, and lets hope that our troops get the recognition and honor they deserve. While it’s tragic that the young man died, report on the story and move on! As Montel said, spend that time to honor those who have served our country.

Terance: A great segment. Actually Montel has frequently been a guest on “Your World” as both he and Cavuto discuss MS. I’m sure we’ll be seeing him again.
BTW, my good friend Terance, did you see the item in the Page Six column about alleged cocaine and heroin use causing the death of Heath Ledger? It doesn’t excuse John Gibson’s reaction but if true, it does add an interesting footnote to this tragic story.

Ira, what is going on? Recently you said, “Let’s move on. I’m tired of this subject” and now here you are bringing it up again. Please take off those flip flops while posting!
Anyway, I did hear something about cocaine. But, even if HL got high every night on speedballs, that doesn’t excuse Gibson. And I know you didn’t say it did…

I think Montel hit it right and I applaud him. Yes, it is sad Heath Ledger died, whom I had only a vague knowledge of, but the attention paid to him like he was some kind of saint, just amazes me. There is no way cable news will start spotlighting soldier’s deaths on a daily basis but they could sure go a long way in not making such a big story out of something that, at best, is just a sad story of another hollywood star, who was on drugs, dying.

Terance: I just threw the flip-flops into the trash!

I agree with Montel, too. Although I think “awkward” describes the clip, I don’t think it should be included as a hazard of live TV. I wish somebody would have said that during all the Anna Nicole Smith stories, or during Britney Spears stories currently. If hours of Heath Ledger stories equals more ratings, what does that say about our society? Who the hell watches hours of coverage of that? Why is there so much demand for tabloid journalism that TMZ.com now has a TV show? Of course some celebrities are going to do something when they’ve got cameras and flashbulbs in their faces every single time they step outside!

I don’t think Montel hijacked the discussion. I think he added to the discussion and educated the audience that they are being duped. It is a disgrace that Heath Ledger blows the troops out of the water as far as coverage goes. I applaud Montel for having the guts to bring it up. You can tell Fox didn’t like it. I doubt he will be invited back.

What a hipocrite. Montel had a show on M-F for 1 hour. He could’ve covered this everyday(5 hours a week), but instead he chose to use his airtime for Pshycics and Losers. So…. Montel go smoke another one get off your high horse before you hurt yourself.
