Looks like the 10pm Hardball pretty much flopped on MSNBC — will be interesting to see how KO does tonight.
BTW Spud, any luck on getting the CNBC figures?
Comment by Anonymous — January 31, 2008 @ 7:25 pm
Wow, Lou Dobbs already beat Shep in the key demo! 354 vs 345
Oh alright, I’ll admit it was due to the debate. But, it’ll still be interesting to see how they fare in the long run.. especially if Kitty Pilgrim starts winning too.
Comment by Terance — January 31, 2008 @ 7:32 pm
Nancy beats Countdown again. Damn, Keith.
Comment by Aaron — January 31, 2008 @ 8:30 pm
Except not, Aaron.

Last time I checked 653,000 came before 572,000. Oh thats right, KO fans only use the 25-54 demo for ratings.
Comment by kbass — January 31, 2008 @ 9:24 pm
Are the Dan Abrams numbers correct? Seem kind of wacky.
Comment by Unanimous — January 31, 2008 @ 10:13 pm
941,000 > 653,000.

Thank you for proving my case.
Comment by kbass — January 31, 2008 @ 10:29 pm
Should have read your fortune today, Aaron. Ouch.
Comment by Unanimous — January 31, 2008 @ 10:38 pm
Okay, settle down. It seems that our “friends” over at TV Newser have a typo… as both sets of numbers they list are labeled “25-54 demographic: (L +SD)”… when I think only one should be.
But more important than that… TV Newser’s numbers and Spud’s numbers don’t match. Someone’s wrong. Both are labeled as L+SD. If you match up the numbers, it appears that someone is off by an hour at some points. Either Olbermann got 572 (ICN)… or Hardball (TVN) did.
Spud, a little help here…
Comment by ImNotBlue — January 31, 2008 @ 11:06 pm
Get a load of the new cnn.com/am website of John Roberts. He’s trying to look like some kind of young go-getter. His hair is even a little darker. Ah, brilcream? A little dab will do yah. An obvious attempt to prop up the ratings. Here’s an idea: Let Kiran be Kiran. Not some kind of half-assed Soledad. Why did you hire her in the first place?
Comment by Unanimous — February 1, 2008 @ 2:27 am
“Ah, brilcream? A little dab will do yah.”
You youngens should know that brilcream is a hair slicker downer not a coloring. That would be “Just for Men”.
“Here’s an idea: Let Kiran be Kiran.”
Here’s a better idea, let Kiran go.

KO’s bad ratings is why he had his “Special Comment” last night.
I also loved how he refused to interview Andy Card, yet waited three days to call him a Nazi.
I guess “Truth to Power” and “The Modern Day Murrow” now mean cowardice and hiding under the desk for three days.
Comment by eddiebear — February 1, 2008 @ 9:56 am
OK I’m changing my nick because I definitely did NOT post that idiotic comment above…
Comment by THE Anonymous — February 1, 2008 @ 10:00 am
Wow… congratulations to Dan Abrams! It looks like people are catching on to how absolutely brilliant this man is. I don’t even mind the fact that he covers some tragedy TV because he does spend the majority of his show on the issues and doesn’t sensationalize.
Comment by Paco — February 1, 2008 @ 11:53 am
#12- I should have known. I stand corrected.
Comment by Unanimous — February 1, 2008 @ 12:55 pm
Hey fortune cookie, can you read and do math?
Show p2+
Countdown with Keith Olbermann 572,000
Nancy Grace 653,000
653,000 > 572,000
Go back to school.
Comment by Aaron — February 1, 2008 @ 1:43 pm
Be nice Aaron, you know KO fans only look at the P25-54 demo.
Comment by kbass — February 1, 2008 @ 1:51 pm
17: no, they also are pimping that Tivo meme to try to improve their ratings.
Comment by eddiebear — February 1, 2008 @ 2:09 pm
Aaron, you and kb ass haven’t been on this board very long - but long before your pathetic arrival here, it was agreed to after many debates that the Demo is the key indicator in the ratings race.
So pretend your relevant here if you want, but you are not. You are a fly on the wall.
Comment by elmonica — February 1, 2008 @ 2:19 pm
Typical responce from an Olbermann fan. ATTACK ATTACK. Oh by the way I’ve been watching this board long enough to know your love for Olbermann and your defense of him on here. Go back to your pining for Bear!
Comment by kbass — February 1, 2008 @ 2:42 pm
I fixed the Demo numbers for MSNBC last night but forgot to fix the P2+ numbers. Now everything is correct…
Comment by Spud — February 1, 2008 @ 7:14 pm
Elmonica… exactly when was that decided again?
I’ve been here almost 3 years now… and I don’t remember any such agreement.
Comment by ImNotBlue — February 1, 2008 @ 7:38 pm
elmonica: Since when did you start eating your own?
Comment by Ira — February 1, 2008 @ 7:46 pm
Now I can retract my statements from 3 and 17 since Spud corrected the post. The previous posts were based on what the ratings were as Spud originally posted them.
So pretend your relevant here if you want, but you are not. You are a fly on the wall.
We are all relevant here as long as we articulate a strong point based on fact not personal attacks. I guess that excludes you as relevant.
Comment by Aaron — February 1, 2008 @ 10:41 pm
Aaron, so an implication that I can’t read and do math and a statement to ‘go back to school’ *isn’t* a personal attack?
You and kbass are classy people. And I’m not even an Olberman fan.
Comment by Fortune Cookie — February 2, 2008 @ 1:40 am
941,000 > 653,000.

Personal attacks have to be responded to. Wise up!
Comment by Aaron — February 2, 2008 @ 12:03 pm
Your comments *were* snarky (”Damn, Keith”) and ill-informed (based on incorrect data, even after being provided a link to correct data).
That’s not a personal attack, just an observation that can be backed up with facts.
But I think it’s cute that you’re trying to save face when you’re clearly wrong - about your original comment, about your reply to elmonica, and about your reply to me.
Comment by Fortune Cookie — February 2, 2008 @ 5:46 pm
Hey I was going on the facts as I knew they were via Spud. Don’t bring TVN into this. And snarky isn’t an observation that can be backed up by facts.
