PS Is KO about to have a heart attack? The other night he was reading some DNC talking points off a paper in his hand and his hand was shaking a lot! He has gotten so grey over the last year too. You know when someone has to lie day in and day out and try to justify the lies that takes a toll on your heart. All that bull he pushes every day is taking a toll on him.

Why would the competition want to draw attention to their rival? They want to pump up KO’S ratings? Dim, they think what KO’s viewers will switch over to watch them discuss KO? I really doubt the koolaide drinkers work that way, They don’t leave their idol they worship to listen to what they think is the enemy. This is dumb idea, ignore KO that is what I do.

Well, their little discription on their site doesn’t mention it, but alright. In my mind, the bigger deal to me is that Neal is officially off the website there, the only panelist listed now being Cal Thomas. Not sure how long it’s been, but Jane Hall’s entry on FNC’s site has been changed to J. Hall, so what’s going on in that respect?
Comment by Chris — February 2, 2008 @ 11:19 am
I didn’t know this program was still being shown. When is it on?
P.S. If Neil’s gone, that’s great! He’s a condescending know-it-all.

Saturday nights at 6:30 following Beltway Boys. It’s moved around a bit but it’s back in its original time slot now.

I haven’t seen this show in over a year. I used to enjoy it, but I couldn’t find it for a while.
Comment by chase — February 2, 2008 @ 5:26 pm
Just you guys watch. Somebody on this panel will wind up getting labeled WPITW over the coming week….
Comment by Foxfan20 — February 2, 2008 @ 6:31 pm
All the panelists seemed to agree (an unusual event) that the blurring of news and commentary has gone so far that it can’t be undone. If true, it’s a pity.
I think I heard at the start of the program that Neil Gabler has gone to CBS and Jim Pinkerton is with the Huckabee campaign, which is why neither is on the show.
Comment by Grandpa D — February 2, 2008 @ 7:59 pm
I think he said Gabler was working at PBS. Interesting Henican and the Weekly Standard guy were introduced as “filling in for” Gabler and Pinkerton. So it appears they expect them to be back soon. Pinkerton probably sooner, given current polls.

Some good points in that discussion. One thing though, I’ve never heard KO be political on Football Night (or Dennis Miller or Rush on MNF), so I don’t see the big deal there.

I hope the bounce the show around is over….Ive seen only about 3 shows since they started that……I WANT to watch it and couldnt find it…part Fox fault and part my DVDR provider……but I hope its over!
I wonder what the rattings have been like?

“Somebody on this panel will wind up getting labeled WPITW over the coming week”
Most likely Cal for that shot at KO ratings…but the whole show will probably get nailed for daring to criticize “Bathtub Boy”.
Comment by mlong — February 2, 2008 @ 9:17 pm
Cal said (paraphrasing) that there is an enormous demographic of conservatives who think the media is already biased so it doesn’t make any difference to them what Olbermann says.
The people Cal was referring to clearly aren’t the participants on this board since they are seemingly obsessed with every move made by Olbermann.
Does anyone care to hypothesize on what drives this strange behavior from people who are already outsiders within their own political party?
Comment by elmonica — February 2, 2008 @ 9:39 pm
Yeah, that’s why they all keep claiming to be Reagan Jr., because we’re all such ‘outsiders’. Keep dreaming.
Comment by laural — February 2, 2008 @ 10:18 pm
Brit Hume anybody?
Comment by randy — February 2, 2008 @ 11:30 pm
Elmo, were you this upset when people were bitching and complaining about O’Reilly? What about when they made a movie about how bad FOX is? What about the books written about how terrible O’Reilly is?
Didn’t hear you complaining about people having an “obsession” then. I wonder why.

> people who are already outsiders within their own political party?
John McCain supporters are outsiders in their own political party? Because I’m sure none of them much cared for Olbermann calling McCain a delusional liar. Apparently there is that terrific El-ESP that can see through walls and into minds and just KNOWS that anyone who objects to Olbermann’s name-calling and smearing can not possibly be a McCain supporter. Despite the fact that Olbermann has attacked McCain repeatedly. It doesn’t get much worse than calling a P.O.W. delusional, you know.

Johnny $, I think Eric was actually saying Ellis Hennican is now with PBS, and Gabler will be back when he’s done promoting his book. It was a little jumbled, but that’s what I took from it.
I still say Pinkerton should be permanently banned for joining the Huckster’s blaspheme campaign.
Comment by bigred — February 3, 2008 @ 1:59 am
Did anyone refer to Ellis as “Stormy”?
Comment by Jim — February 3, 2008 @ 2:24 am
I do, Jim.
I just wanna hear him say “Holy Bejesus” one day.
Comment by ImNotBlue — February 3, 2008 @ 9:53 am
elmonica: I’ll bet yesterday was the first time in a few years that you actually watched something on Fox!
Comment by ira — February 3, 2008 @ 12:38 pm
So did the recently-revamped The Big Story lower thirds are now the general L3s for the network? Eek
Comment by Jordan — February 4, 2008 @ 8:58 am
Given KO`s ranting and raving, I have the perfect name for him. KO, for me, will now be referred to as “Howard Beale” from the 1976 Oscar winning movie “Network”. If you haven`t seen the movie, I suggest renting it. Then you will realize that KO is nothing more than a “Howard Beale”.
Comment by Roy — February 4, 2008 @ 9:11 am
Roy….
You absolutely nailed it…plus, we must concede that Beale was a fictional character on a fictional network in a fictional script…hey, the similarities are endless!
Except: Beale went to number one quickly and easily…he didn’t have a far more popular host trounce him nightly, he got it done, THEN went insane..life doesn’t always imitate art.
And I’d have to be a real S.O.B. to suggest similar endings for each of these cartoon characters…..
But “Network” was/is a magnificent film with as brilliant a script {sharp man, that Paddy} as ever written.
Comment by Nick D. — February 4, 2008 @ 11:40 am
True about Howard Beale rising to number one, but at the end, his ratings started to fall because people got tired of his ranting/raving and self-righteous preaching.
Comment by Roy — February 4, 2008 @ 2:46 pm
Like I said, Roy….the similarities are endless!
Olber-Blather has had a few upticks, and his Bush-hating viewers are in greater numbers than 3 or 4 years ago, but they have stalled and, on many nights, dropped back…so your Beale analogy is spot on.
One must not discount the angry, unoriginal “Special Comments” that MSNBC trumpets as major events…not only are they slightly rewritten Media Matters bullet points, they so frequently distort reality and present left-wing political spin as fact {the very same style hypocrisy they slam Bill O’Reilly on nightly} that even among Bush haters, they have lost steam. Very, very Beale like, don’t you think???
So you’re pissed off, Keith….uh, so what? How’s that campaign to get Bush to resign workin’ for you? It can get very delusional when you only book pet guests guaranteed to agree with you as you read off MMFA talking points off the prompters….it might seem as though people actually agree with you….unless you look at the ratings and find yourself a distant second on your good nights.
“His ranting/raving and self-righteous preaching” = “Special Comments”…except Beale made #1, and I’ll bet Olber-frown never comes close.
