1. 6 vets show up and protest Fox…..that is a Demonstraion to the MSM……40 show up to support Bush and thats not newsworthy…..and they wonder why Fox spanks the news networks year after year.

2. You would think the first thing you do when you go to a protest is to actually know what your protesting…..this is clearly a rent a mob..they pulled some poor old guys off the street slipped them some money and told them to protest Bill.

Also I don’t think it was any accident that they were all Black too..clearly trying to suggest O’Reilly a bigot too…but they pulled it off so badly that it clearly backfired on them….I love how the guy who brought them there and was trying to ambush the FOX people got ambushed himself when pressed on who he was and who he worked for that was priceless. LOL!!!!

5. It’ll be hard for Olbermoronn to spin this one, so he’ll probably have to resort to completely lying about it.

6. O’Reilly is an unfair and unbalanced commentator, but i still like his show.

7. I’m not big on calling people out because of their spelling or grammar… but come on, don… it looks like you’re not even trying.

Oh, and perhaps Roger Ailes knew about O’Reilly’s trip… and perhaps he didn’t. Either way, as the manager, he is intimately responsible for the conduct of his employees.

Additionally, as I said in another post, the NBC News reporter was not defined as working for any one particular show, but rather just the network. Because of that, the only logical person to call would be the head of the news division… ie: Capus. O’Reilly didn’t make a big deal about Capus not knowing, he didn’t say Capus was responsible for sending the crew… he simply said, perhaps he needs to pay more attention to what his employees are doing. And perhaps, O’Reilly is right.

8. The Capus era has been a broadcasting cluster-you-know-what…from mishandling The Imus blowup to glorifying and brand stamping a mass murderer’s video manifesto {Virginia Tech, anyone?}…the latest has Chris Matthews pressured into apologizing for telling the truth about Hillary Clinton {which started the Clintons…excuse me, Media Matters…setting up a Matthews Watch, which amuses me no end - finally, somebody watching “Hardball”} and now, Bill O’Reilly b-slaps NBC News for doing what MSNBC does daily…fabricating protests and covering it like it actually isn’t a lame P.R. stunt, but as news.

And when they are called on it…it’s Fox News who is to blame…

I can hardly wait for K.O.’s lies during his “Special Mumblings” on THIS one…and all the while, as O’Reilly correctly points out, Fox kicks MSNBC’s ass all over the place.

When will G.E. pull the plug on this loss and focus on the core business…like selling things to Iran through third-party subsidiaries to pocket profit and embolden that terror sponsor who sends weapons and terrorists up against American troops…..

9. Nick D. when will somone pull the plug on you? may i remind you, that the interview the giant head ran on ge and the iran saga was taped i do believe in september 2003? just like the fox news viewers to swallow anything that fox news shoves down their throwts is so damn gullible

10. Spud,

Earlier blog, same subject posters - mentioning the bluetooth in one of their ears it is there, no missing it that isn’t a hearing aid and it isn’t a hook up for a broadcast, that gentleman had a bluetooth in his ear…so if these men are being identified as homeless vets it begs the questions where do they get money for bluetooth technology but can’t afford their necessities? I wonder if anyone will follow this up?

11. “since you both are slow and just dumb”

don-that is really funny coming from the you considering the laughable grammer and spelling in your posts. My 6 year old can spell better than you can. Funny, none-the-less. Thanks for the irony.

This protest was hilarious and sad at the same time. Hilarious in the attempt by NBC that so badly blew up in their face(s). Sad because these vets were there thinking they were doing something noble, yet NBC let them their by their noses for NBC’s own agenda. It was clear NBC lied to them and dragged them there under the pretense of nobely standing up for their fellow vets. Yet, had any of the 6 bothered to research themselves, they could have saved themselves the embarrasment.

12. Don,

Since you choose to emerge from your own personal gutter by wishing I die {”pull the plug on you”}, suggesting I perform you favorite sex act and am ’slow and just dumb”, I will for the first time {and hopefully the last} in dozens of posts here respond to your blatant stupidity.

Capus: failed to control the Imus controversy, costing his network untold millions of revenue and sticking them with “Morning Joe”, an almost unspeakably boring morning show which lost most of the gains “Imus In The Morning” made on CNN during 2006; did everything in his power to brand the NBC logo all over video a mass murderer FedEx’d to NBC News {must have known they’d make him a star, I guess}, to the point of demanding this video they lucked into only be aired with requirements of marketing/branding by other networks, etc….a truly sad chapter in modern American “journalism”, roundly condemned throughout the journalistic community; the Chris Matthews “apology” had been heavily documented, and his original statement was fully accurate, and NBC brass requiring him to apologize to appease Media Matters and other MSNBC direct “news” sources and leftwing hate merchants was just another shot at their credibility.

Now, Bill O’Reilly, the real star of “Countdown” albeit heavily edited to blur reality, calls out NBC for covering a protest by six guys who don’t know what they are protesting about…and you find that objectionable….

I suggest, Bob, that before posting next time, you remove your head from that dark orifice…the fumes are affecting what little judgment you have left…and if you’ll stop stroking that thing while you do it, you can more easily access the spell-check, you illiterate moron…

13. Steve Capus is the one who paddled this canoe up stream and now they appear to be without any oars..any in the water anyway. They are now up #$%^ Creek without a paddle. There is a pecking order at MSNBC and the line up isn’t attractive.

14. 1) John Edwards referred to 200,000 veterans sleeping under bridges.
2) O’Reilly says that’s not true
3) Edwards cites sources that say it’s true
4) O’Reilly says he’ll help any that you can find
5) A lot of them show up at Fox News
6) O’Reilly insults as many people as possible.

O’Reilly didn’t say “the economy isn’t responsible for homeless vets,” he said there WEREN’T ANY HOMELESS VETS!” THEN he changed his story to “there aren’t that many” then proceeded to bs to save his sorry ass.

Comment by john — February 3, 2008 @ 9:43 pm

15. Ree brings up an excellent point re: bluetooth. If these guys are so down and out, how can they afford this technology? And who is it they are talking to?

I think O’Reilly’s point was that while there ARE homeless vets, they are in that situation because of addition (for which they seem to not want treatment), as opposed to the state of the economy. But SURPRISE! His words were twisted once again.

16. I swear to you all that I proofread these posts. But it isn’t until they show up on the board that my errors jump out!

That said, I was trying to say that these guys are on the streets because of addiCtion, not addition. But I guess if they flunked out of math at an early age, that could be a problem as well.

Comment by Missy — February 3, 2008 @ 10:56 pm

17. A minor point: I had not noticed the Bluetooth thingy in the ear of the vet with the hood, but I don’t think the claim was made that these men were themselves currently homeless vets, just men concerned about homeless vets.

Just CLUELESS men concerned about homeless vets…

18. john… did the same guys who told the SIX people what O’Reilly “said” tell you what he “said?”

1) John Edwards referred to 200,000 veterans sleeping under bridges. Hey, you got that one right!

2) O’Reilly says that’s not true It’s not true… many are in shelters, or addicts with other programs than their homelessness. “Sleeping under bridges is a pure exaggeration. Additionally, O’Reilly says it’s not Edwards’ “Two Americans” or the economy to blame for their homelessness.

3) Edwards cites sources that say it’s true Like David Letterman.

4) O’Reilly says he’ll help any that you can find And will be announcing a big program to help the homeless, with Col. Hunt later this month.

”5) A lot of them show up at Fox News” Or just 6… depending on if you can count or not.

”6) O’Reilly insults as many people as possible.” O’Reilly never insults meets with them, his producers interview them, proving they’ve never heard or seen what O’Reilly actually said, and then on the program, O’Reilly talks about how he feels sorry for these guys because they were obviously manipulated.

But hey, don’t let the facts get in the way of what you want to believe.

Oh, and you forgot number 7… Edwards’ drops out of the presidential race… again… because nobody is buying his particular line of bologna.
