V-necks?
Page Six relishes speculating about a wardrobe change at CNBC…
THE suits at CNBC are said to be so worried about their blonde Fox Business Network competition that they’ve brought in a new wardrobe stylist to re-dress their anchorbabes, an inside source reports. Gone are the business suits that on-air cuties Becky Quick, Erin Burnett and Michelle Caruso-Cabrera used to wear. “All of a sudden, they wear nothing but form-fitting V-necks in bright colors and they’ve gotten all new clothes,” said our source. “Pants are no longer relevant.” A CNBC rep said, “Not true. No wardrobe change.”

Ah, yet another feeble attempt at “exposing” the competition by News Corps’ own hometown rag sheet.

Is Spud implying bias? Today it is “Page Six relishes” and last week it was “Page Six gleefully.”
Although it is easy to conclude that a News Corp. owned newspaper is trashing a Fox Business Network rival, I’ll bet a count will show as many positive Page Six items about Maria Bartiromo and Erin Burnett as what you imply are CNBC negatives.

Oh puh-leeze, Page 6 is a bunch of lies and everyone with a brain knows that.

Ira, I’ll bet a “tally” will show NO NEGATIVES about FBN or FNC talent ever.

Well, it is a GOSSIP page.

*IF* CNBC anchors have gotten a new wardrobe, they must have missed the closet of Melissa Francis — she wears the same set of outfits ALLLLLLLLL the time, especially this horrid white suit with a yellow trim. Eek!

^ Yeah, Erin was wearing that white/purple number today which is “played out” and didn’t look that good in the first place.

Terance: My problem is with Spud’s characterizations on these two items.
Notice in another Monday thread Spud simply describes Howard Kurtz writing about “Fox News Sunday.” Given that he hosts a show on CNN, could Kurtz relish or gleefully be writing a negative item about Fox?

Ira, perhaps Kurtz could be labeled that way sometimes.. but I’m unfamiliar with his “work” as a whole. On the other hand, everyone knows the NyPost doesn’t report negatively on FNC or FBN! Oh and FYI, Kurtz has talked/reported about stuff that goes on at CNN which isn’t flattering from time to time.. which is more than I can say for the NyPost.

But Terance, I hardly think that “Page Six” and Kurtz’s program is a fair comparison. One is a gossip page in a newspaper… the other is a news program, that specifically targets for serious discussion/debate, the other news media outlets.
A more fair comparison would be between Kurtz’s program and FOX Newswatch. Both of those programs talking about all media, and even report negatively (or debate) about their host station. Page Six is just gossip, don’t take them too seriously.

Blue: I think that your #10 should more properly have been directed toward yours truly.
I certainly know that Page Six is a gossip column and I grudgingly agree with Terance that they’ll never knock FNC or FBN personalities. I’m just really pulling Spud’s chain.
