Beck vs. Olbermann: Here we go again…
The New York Daily News’ Rush and Malloy have the latest exchange between Glenn Beck and Keith Olbermann…
At least Limbaugh has a friend in Glenn Beck. The younger conservative radio star declined to weigh in on Limbaugh’s “anal” expulsion Tuesday, which is probably a good thing, considering he’s recovering from hemorrhoid surgery. But Beck was happy to fire a few rounds at their mutual enemy, MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann.
“[Olbermann] is never brave enough to say his political position on air,” contends Beck. Although he’s pleased that his latest tome, “An Inconvenient Book” has so far outsold Olbermann’s “Truth and Consequences,” Beck argues, “I don’t care about other hosts. I don’t need to throw people under the bus. If I saw Olbermann standing on the subway [platform], I might think for a moment about pushing him, but I wouldn’t.”
Olbermann responds: “The subway remark summarizes who Glenn is. If he (or anybody else) fell in front of a train, I hope I’d have the courage to emulate Wesley Autry and try to save him.”

well for anyone who hates olbermann i do believe that comment was a bit over the top

Beck has a point

Beck obviously has never seen any of Keith’s special comments then. Otherwise he can’t possibly make that point with any credibility…

Keith Olberman uses the train? come on he is limo’d around everywhere -right, a limo with bullett proof glass.

> The subway remark summarizes who Glenn is.
Interesting. Keith Olbermann said on air that he would like to knife Bill O’Reilly in the hamstrings. Does that also summarize who Olbermann is?

Spud, as far as I know, Olbermann has never stated what he obviously is, a Democratic shill. I think that’s what Beck is saying. Olbermann does not have the courage to admit to being a partisan. Where are all those special comments when Democrats do something wrong? Where are they in the worst persons in the world segment? No where, it seems. Olbermann is clearly without courage.

The reason Olbermann can’t drive is because he hit his head on the subway outside of Shea stadium running for a train.
He lives (or used to live) about 15-20 blocks away from Rockefeller Center where he works now. I doubt he’s riding in a limo to and from work especially when he road the subway when he lived NYC when he worked at CNN and WCBS.
Hell, even Dan Rather used to walk home from the CBS News studios after anchoring the news until he was mugged in Central Park.

blogthat: Given his latest ($4 million?) contract, I doubt that KO still rides the subway

Didn’t Keith make some violent remarks about Ann Coulter (something to do with a voodoo doll or something)? I guess it’s OK for him to use hyperbole, but Beck of course is not allowed to do so.

How much “courage” does it take to hide under the desk when Andy Card is in the studio, and then attack him the next day in a “Special Rant” with drool running down your chin?
Comment by Jim — February 6, 2008 @ 1:28 pm
>First of all, Beck openly states his support for the Republican party.
>Keith is definitely very liberal. But, being very liberal doesn’t mean you have to register with he Democratic party just as being conservative doesn’t mean you have to register with the Republican party…it is called Liberal Independent and Conservative Independent.

It does if you want to be a blogger at Daily Kos. Just ask Cindy Sheehan, who got dumped from the site because she opposed Nancy Pelosi.

Olbermann isn’t really all that liberal, he just can’t stand the insanity of the current administration. A majority of America feels the same way according to the polls. But for anyone to say he doesn’t say his political position on air just shows how clueless Beck really is.

And if anyone knew Glenn Beck ,they’d know he was kidding. Maybe somewhat distasteful, but a nonetheless, a joke.

What a load of crap - this same guy Martin claims to be an authority on Olbermann as well and of course in his dream world Olbermann has never been funny when the target of his humor is Fox News.

Johnny Dollar clearly recalls Keith making a joke about how he’d have to cut Bill O’Reilly’s hamstring to win a dance contest against him. But what he won’t remember (because he doesn’t want you to know about it) is that right after commercials, Keith came back and apologized profusely for ever having made a joke about such a thing, because he realized what poor taste it was in to do so.
That’s the difference between Keith and Glenn Beck. And what you can expect from the kind of “truth” Johnny deals in.

Glenn Beck is a parochial minded ignoramus…I wouldn’t wish death on anyone…but for some of the misguided over the top reckless remarks he makes..he should, at the very least…be punched in the mouth.
