So much for the “boycott”…
Portfolio’s Jeff Bercovici blogs about the so called boycott of FNC in light of Hillary Clinton agreeing to appear on an FNC debate…
With Edwards out of the picture, Clinton showed some foresight yesterday in agreeing to debate on Fox — a move that makes her, not Obama, look like the kind of bridge-building candidate who can reach out to swing voters. (In fact, both of them have made multiple Fox appearances during the primaries, just not in debates.)
Obama hasn’t yet responded to the latest Fox invitation, nor to press inquiries about it. I assume that means he’s hunkered down with his advisors, trying to figure out how to avoid being outmaneuvered by Clinton while keeping the MoveOn and DailyKos left in his corner. The irony here is that, of the three leading Democrats, Obama was always the worst suited to the role of anti-Fox warrior, with all his talk of healing the partisan divide and learning from Republicans.

So much for Jeff Bercovici mentioning FNC smeared Obama with that BS madrassa story.

“FNC smeared Obama with that BS madrassa story”
So much for beating a dead horse…funny Edwards chief excuse for the Boycott was the “Madrassa story” but Obama didn’t seem to be worked up over it afterall if he was so outraged by it then he wouldn’t of appeared on so many FOX shows…plus CNN treated him worse by “accidentally” calling him Osama a couple of times and actively helping St,Hill at some of the debates with planted questioners.
But really as I said in another post..just how p*ssed off are the Daily Kos kids?..the boycott was supposed to show how much power they held over the Dems. and now it looks like it’s FOX that will get the last laugh on the Kossacs. LOL!!!!

Mlong, when reporting on the boycott and Obama, its pertinent to give everyone all the info. So, keep talking about Edwards, horses, and websites I’ve never been to if ya want.

Whatever Terance..but the bottom line is the only reason for the infamous boycott was to kiss the butts of the Daily Kos kids for the first part of the election cycle…now Hill and Obama can do pretty much what they want now with regards to FOX..plus it’s kind of hard to justify the boycott in the first place when you kept appearing on FOX shows now isn’t it?…face it FOX won this one. :)

Really? How odd you never mention that CNN’s Glenn Beck also reported the Madrassa story on his tv show.

Mlong — Obama is the only one who I agree with for the “so called” boycott. So, refresh yourself and stop telling me about Daily Kos or whatever.. seeing that I stay away from political websites.
Johnny Dollar — it might be time to rotate your tires.. seeing that Beck has nothing to do with this thread.

Because you pointedly tried to keep him out of it. But if reporting the madrassa story is all important, as you seem to think by immediately bringing up in the very first comment, then it deserves to be noted that Fox wasn’t the only one to report that item, but they were the only ones to be boycotted. A significant point.

Obama may decide not to take part, but I doubt the venue would be the reason. I think this could be a political move on clinton’s part considering her campain cash situation. the debates would benifit her more by keeping Obama from getting out to events to meet voters in states he is not as well known, raising more money, etc. Yet by making it a fnc thing, her campain could be hoping if he decides not to take part that the media picks it up as him boycotting. Just something to keep in mind on this story.

And Clinton has been far more negative about fnc, even when she was appearing on the channel. I’d consider that when I evaluate this political move.

Johnny Dollar — Too bad ya didn’t omit that line because I would’ve said you had a good point. Btw, did Beck correct the record? And how about FNC?

Im no Hillary supporter but if Obama refuses to go on Fox then Fox should give Hill a 1 hour Q&A with a moderator. This would essentially give Hill a free 1 hour commercial and show that Obama is not the candidate that brings people together.

FNC has done this was well, both verbally and in their chyrons.

Didn’t Ted Kennedy also do that?
In his speech that is, I don’t think he has graphics.

The latest report Obama won’t he said, no more debates. It looks to me, Hillary trying to set up a debate a week, makes her look desperate. She has money trouble and Obama can afford commericals in the states coming up. If Hillary debates Obama, she gets face time on tv in those states for free. Looks like Obama didn’t just fall off the turnip truck.

If Beck did I never heard about it (though some other CNN program addressed it). I know F&F did.

Obama goes on Fox. So that is silly.

Um, folks, I wish everyone who declares both Clinton and Obama are boycotting Fox, including Fox, would get their facts straight. Both candidates have been on Fox and Friends! Clinton has been on Fox News Sunday. I did a quick search for Fox News Sunday and Obama to see if he’d ever been on… Hmmm, what comes up but many stories, negative, discussing Obama. Why should he waste his time going to a network that could edit video to take anything he says out of context and play it over and over! He’d be better off spending an hour at a stadium talking to 10,000 voters.

Ree: And with Hillary’s campaign apparently broke (she lent $5 million of her own money), it is an idea that makes sense.

Wouldn’t Obama also get free face time? Wouldn’t free face time help… both of them?
