Although I tend to agree with much of her politics, I think she’s a bombthrower and thrives on stunts, instead of the force of her logic and verbal skills.

As for needing endorsements from Anne Coulter and her ilk, they don’t call these people DittoHeads (or my preferred word of “drones”) for nothing.

Then again, her and the other “media conservatives” are positioning themselves for jobs after November, so what they have to say now is all about positioning for future gigs.

On average, most of the country is moderate, so they find McCain appropriate and Ann Coulter, Rush et al to be on the fringe. But those of us who are conservative and who do follow politics closely do resent John McCain for his actions on judicial appointees, tax cuts, illegal immigration, etc. When we had the majority in Congress and could actually do something, McCain would often vote with the other side, thereby rendering our majority useless!

Do you remember how the democrats dumped Joe Lieberman just last year to support the very leftist, anti-war Ned Lamont? That’s how we feel about McCain - his positions, like Lieberman’s, are just too moderate, and he crosses “over the aisle” way too much. While this is not bad outrightly, but to true partisans, this deviates from our party’s positions.

However, since the POTUS must preside over the entire country, I do realize that a moderate, or someone who is known for compromise, may in fact be the most likely winner of the election.

But back to these “celebrity” statements. Political pundits at least have some credibility when they speak, as they are often students of history, of the constitution and of day-to-day politics. But people such as Rosie O’Donnell, Michael Moore, Roseanne Barr, etc. typically have little education and may not even be aware of all of a politician’s positions on all subjects. Basically, all we know is that they hate Bush, want “change”, and feel compelled to speak out. So in that case, why should we listen to them? Others, such as Oprah, seem to have studied their candidate in depth and may in fact be informed when speaking.

As always, we’ve all been given wisdom to think for ourselves. Take the info. that these people provide (if you trust the source), compare with other sources and then decide for yourselves.
